If the seeds are viable and you keep the soil moist you'll be fine. I wouldn't worry too much about humidity. Humidity comes more into play for things like cloning. I never use a dome when I crack new seeds.

hope this helps

I would not worry about checking my humidity levels inside the dome.... The dome usually brings around high humidity.... Of curse u cant have ur seedling inside the humidity dome for long....what I do is the following..... For 10 min every day only for the first week I... Open the dome and set a small fan so that they can receive some air flow... This will strenghten ur stems... After a week and a half of sprouting I take the dome off and give them plenty of air circulation...

Only put a dome on if your having trouble keeping your soil moist. You would remove the dome as soon as you see any green sprouts come up.
Humidity is only really a concern once your plants have at least the 3 prong leaves. They are pretty much set to automatically grow to that point as long as they have enough water.

I usually dont use a dome either but my humidty can drop below 30% and i know that stops growth all together and when im paying for beans its a different story... also how far away from the lights should they be placed , should they be raised? its a new dome w/ vents but almost twice as tall.. Thanks again i will try to add more pics

ok i will remove dome but how close should light be ... as close as possible ??? i hate forgetting what i have once done before , guess i got lucky first time around .. also i am using a floro tube about 1 ft long that i got from lowes for under my kitchen cabinet 1 year but never use... it is 6500k .. Havent looked at the watts .. also have extra cfl's but idk if one will put out too many lumens to be too much too soon ... I will be planting two beans that have popped :o) 1 - Big Bang (Auto) 1 - MidGrade Bagseed (*sticky, piney/diesel smell) .. like nugs with seeds but for about 120 a zip ... Almost thought I got the wrong bag ...

Heat is your main concern, not light. (They can take the light of full sun!) Keep the light as close as you can with out threat of burning it.

Then make sure grow medium stays moist. (not dry, not wet) And you are good to go for a week or two.

Ok Moist .... and it'll be good for a week ? mine seems to be drying up within 8-10 hours so ill mist them 2or3 times until they look slighty wet ... Too much , am i under the impression they are a little too dry and underneath the surface everything is moist enough ?
