ive had these basil seeds sitting in my apartment for like 8 months and just set up a new clone room so i threw a couple of the little fuckers in a pot and put em in there with some nice little ghanni clones. anyways i have no idea about lighting with these things. they just popped dirt and the clone room is on 24/7, do i just leave em in veg and pick leaves at my own will or flower or what. i can work wonders with good ol' cannabis but am clueless on this topic.

I do tons of basil.. usually under my 600w HPS LIGHTS. They will grow like wild fire, Lots to drink, lots of light and unless you have themn in a large bucket for root base, they will need to be supported. I try not to cut much until they get about 20" in height. They will eventually go to flower if the lights are there for it, but you should get mass harvest anyways. Unless your looking for seed, pinch ot snip the flowers when you see them comming. For best results, I have been cutting the bud and the 2 stems below off to better reduce it trying to reflower immediatley as it will do at times. I grow 2 plants a pop, give a ton of it away and still save nearly a pound of dried, food prcesser chopped basil in the kitchen. This is sweet Basil in an aeroponic system.. they arent real picky on nutes.. they use what they need and tend not to starve the others. I have grown them with Beans, Matos, lettuce, Dill, Squash at diffrent times using the same tank. Hope it all works out for you.
Good Luck

ive just got them under a few hundred watts of cfl right now, would it be better to throw them under my 1000w hps? its in 12/12 right now so im sure that plays a factor. i really know nothing about this plant except that i love pesto. the info is much appreciated. im about to head off to the garden center and pick up some more seeds for herbs and veggies. ive been growing for about 2 years and for some reason just never messed with anything other than mj. i thought about it and realized how much of a waste it is not to grow as many different plants as i can.

You know that just it, unless you have reflecting walls pushed right up around your main grow to kick it back in, its light wasted. I put things in and around my matos all the time and push outdoor plants in for the winter in and around everything.. every little bit helps. I typically am growing in 5 Gal buckets and have many 3" peat pots in and around wherever I can get them once the seedlings or the clones take off. lol.. I have made like 20 clones of my wifes Swedish Ivy and about the same of a house warming gift of impatiens.. trying to get better at the clone thing. I think the fact I stopped using the wool and switched to the nut enriched bio cube I think they are called has realy helped big time. If you realy want to see the Basil BOOM..go for the 1000w. I typically run my lights for 16 a day and get more than enough mato blooms, so I rarley change it. Lettuce is diffrent of course. I dont run any MH, but if I had it and it was strong enough I would put the Basil there simply to take out the hassle of the flower that will usually come in like 12 to 16 weeks in the aero system.. but like I said, you end up with a ton of basil and it has a way about smelling through out my 3000 sqf home so some pepz may like this trait.

i think by buds he meant flowerbuds. like how all flowers have the little buds before they start to bloom. are you trying to practice growing for use on vegetables or bud? if your practicing for bud i cant tell you so far its not really the same. youd want something that bears fruit. i didnt really look much so i didnt find em, but mad people grow peppers in the same room as their bud. ive seen some pictures and they grow very well indoors under proper lighting.

Basil smell will fill your apartment before flowering..and when it does flower..look out! Just before I shut my areo system down I let 2 Basil plants go to flower and you could smell it throughout our 3000sq home..upstairs even. My wife was always asking me if I just cut some..

LOOKS GREAT! You do realize thats a boat load of basil for any given pot right? Perhaps its a small variety? I love all Basil, but usually grow Sweet
and they are absolute hogs. I would keep 2 in the pot and move the rest out into the yard. They are super hardy plants. Now that Dill is looking real fine.
I just cant grow / eat enough of it. Sure wish I had a bunch of baby dills like that. With the threat of Japanese Beetles, I dont think I will try them outside
as they are so fragile a plant. Keep us updated for sure on your progress.
