hi all i have 4 seedlings going right now that i plan on moving outdoors, i started them about 2 and a half weeks ago, moneys a little tight now so i cant get the fox farm trio pack for another couple of weeks how long will i be able to get by with the the nutes that came in the soil and if not should i use miracle grow nutes for the first feeding and then just flush and start fresh with the fox farm nutes

yah, i usually go for about a month or a lil more then a month with just plan ocean forest soil without adding any further nutes to them.. you'll tell when they start to get a lil hungry though as they will start to yellow some and just their overall appearence won't look as healthy after awhile, letting you know that its time to feed them..

I had the same question and called foxfarm to ask, they said a week....

however I use the happy frog and I've gone atleast a month like these two said and there's still beautiful growth

what ff said is more in line with what i was thinking. i really think the nute content of ffof has been exaggerated on the forums. i've had young transplants show signs of hunger after 2 weeks in fresh oceanforest. it depends on the strain though, and also the size of the pot. for the op, your plant will tell you when it's hungry. look for yellowing on lower leaves or signs of leaf color changes throughout the plant. growth will slow down, also.

I wait a little after two weeks to give first light nutes. I only use flowering nutes though out the entire grow to save a buck lol

My rooting/cloning solution has minor nutes in it, and I run that along with my mix from the start, I also like to use bigger pots from everything but seedling.

I mean I can run like a month veg in OF per gallon pot, then once I transplant to my 5 gal. for flower, they can go 2-3-4 weeks even before nutes are required..... I mean maybe upon transplant a light superthrive hit, but that is it..... I mean the oversized pots help and I am not running 100 % O.F. so my mix is not as "hot" per say.

But I guess it depends on pot size, plant, and such.

You will be alright for the first 3 weeks then you will want to start nutes at 1/2 strength

if you cant afford the ff trio, you can just pick up a bottle of fish emulsion from menards or home depot

i assume your still vegging

this will keep ya going till you can get your trio

fish emulsion is all i used for veg this year and i got ten foot plants outside

Have you used any of the Alaska Fertilizer 5-1-1 or the MorBloom 0-10-10? I believe they also have a Fish Emulsion in the Alaska line up as well.
