Harvesting/ curing time

Hey all, I was surfing through the site and couldn't find a definate answer to how long the actual curing time is before smoking/ or handing out to my patients. I once got some in Cali when I was there on vacation and it didn't look like it was cured quite right. It was still very moist but was spectacular. It seems as though it was maybe just hung upside down and not in jars for very long. Is that correct? The smoke was great, uplifting, and wasn't that harsh.

Could somebody help me with this? Everything I've read has lead me to believe that canning (jars) for a few weeks with burping is the right method. Does it really take that long? What advantages does it offer? (smoke, taste, smell)

Thank you all who reply. Scientific answers are welcome.

a proper cure brings a smoother smoke, better taste, better smell!i cured for at least 2 weeks!i use the jar burping method!

should the smell get stronger in the jars and weaker. ie would it be the most smelly before or after jars? or maybe i just touched the trichomes too much.

If you are new to growing just say it, most of us here are learning as we go. You come on here asking questions that I think a "caregiver" with "patients" should already know if they are serious about growing for others. You sound more like someone new to growing MJ and selling on the street or to your friends, which is not necessarily a bad thing, just be careful. I personally have found that curing in jars and burping is good for the end product. The amount of time it takes depends on the buds so take your time and do it right, you will be rewarded.
