What is it with our gov? Telling us what we can and cant do, what we can put into our bodies or what we cant?

I thought this was the land of the "free!" Were not free at all! I thought our gov is "by the people for the people."

I just think the gov should regulate "big businesses" and corporate america. Get rid of all the thieves on wall street, incarcerate the "big cats" responsible for this meltdown in our economy and let we the people do whatever the fuck we want to do, albe it we dont hurt no one in process.

We need to stand for what we believe in and get the piwer back into the hands of the peopke of this country. Ignorance is costly, just look at the terrorist running the country into the ground.

Please share your thoughts, they are greatly welcomed!

I agree but the government is the problem not the companies, the government just lets them get away with it. When the government spends more for welfare than it takes in, you can't blame big companies. And yea I here that the tax payers are going to have to pick up the tab for unpaid school cost. Just 1 more trillion to add to the pot. If the damn voters in this country get off their political parties and start voting American, we are sure enough be in a world of shit.

So you say we are not free? But then suggest we would be freer if the government regulated big business and got rid of wall street big cats, I assume you mean have the government show-up in the middle of the night and take them away from their families. I guess I would have to agree with you, "Ignorance is costly". That is why we live in a welfare state.

Default by inflation. that is the plan they have for us.
That's exactly right. And all of us that have gone without through the years to scrimp and save a few bucks to secure some semblance of a financially secure future will be the ones who get screwed. That is what happens when you let the government pick the winners and the looser. The ones that work hard and act responsibly are penalized, and the ones that are irresponsible and lazy get rewarded. And yet some call that freedom? I feel very foolish for not spending everything I made and going as far in debt as possible. It seems that is the thing to do in a socialist country.

one of the great fallacies of democracy is that it is some magical path to freedom. even constant vigilance is often not enough. do you really think your friends and neighbors want you to be able to do what you want when you want? of course not, they want you to live your life the way they would live it. just look at your own little rant. you want this nebulous concept of "government" to regulate the actions of those you see as responsible for our present woes. you want business punished for their part in the destruction of what they helped to create. do you want your own actions regulated? do you want the millions of little guys who invested in "big business" to be punished for what their investments enabled? of course not, you want those at the top to pay for the sins of the whole. you want them held to a different standard than the rest of us, simply because they have more. this is the danger of the mob rule of rampant democracy. the overwhelming numbers of the ignorant masses will always blame some designated scapegoat for the failures in which they themselves had a hand.

You are missing the point. Look around you, see those people? they are the ones that charged your government with telling you what you can and can't put into your body. It is the ignorant and the uneducated and the unaware that put the people in office that tell you what you can and can't do. Quit blaming "government" when in this country it is your biased, opinionated, unenlightened neighbors that decide who is in charge. The ones who believe that corporations should be people, the ones that think that money is speech, the ones that think that lawyers are evil, the ones that think you should obey according to their understanding of morality, those are the ones that influence government and those are the ones that are inflicting their ideas on you - government is their method of manipulating you and they manage to hide behind that same government, pointing to it and saying "if you are upset, your government is to blame - THERE is the tyranny".

Everybody is for freedom and get the government off MY back, but as soon as someone says something they don't like, they think it should be made illegal to talk that way or worse, to think that way. Cut spending, just don't take my piece of the pie. Raise taxes on everybody that makes more than me. We want free speech to spread the word of God but don't let the KKK, pro-abortion, atheists or communists have their say.

"First, they came for the Communists and I didn't speak out because I was not a Communist.
Next, they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
Then, they came for the Jews but I did not speak out because i was not a Jew.
Then, they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me."

"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."

*"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only* exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the* public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the* candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the* result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed* by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's great civilizations has* been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following* sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great* courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance* to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy,* from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage."

i odnt care about the government, I have 40 acres a nice water supply and a bountiful garden. i hope the world goes to hell in a handbasket, I am ready

Quit blaming "government".....
there is no one size fits all answer when assigning blame for the state of our republic. while it may be the citizenry that places these political animals in power and demands more of them than our basic laws allow, it is the duty of those in office to govern according to those laws, no matter what their constituents may desire. this is the duty they have not only failed, but have often subjugated for their own gain. the electorate, as a largely ignorant and selfish lot, are often deceived by those who hold the reins of power. new laws are often passed and entitlements enacted strictly for the purpose of currying favor for a few more votes and a few more years in office. the constitution is constantly abridged for the sake of expediency and ignored to expand to power of our unresponsive representatives.

yes, the people are to blame. yes, the government is to blame. though our system wasn't designed this way, a gulf has grown between the two and that gulf has been exploited to produce a ruling elite. we are told this elite is working in our best interest and we are complacent. as long as we are fed a constant diet of lies and half-truths, we allow the charade to go on and regaining control of our government becomes less and less likely.

It's better than deflation or simply defaulting...
No it isn't. It might be better for those of you who lived beyond your means, never saved a penny and have a high debt load. For those of us who lived frugally, paid cash for items instead of credit and have a few years wages saved up, well for those people, deflation or default is better.

You think I give a shit if JP Morgan won't be able to make 5 Billion in profit this year, only 2.3 Billion? NOPE!! The big banks have perpetrated fraud and malfeasance for decades and never have to be held accountable. Default and let them eat the cost of doing business with high risk credit, I didn't get any say on whether my neighbors home mortgage would be sold and transferred illegally, The bank did that all on their own, make them pay for their own mistakes. Don't make me pay for it with an ever devaluing dollar.

I say all the big bankers should all go to Washington and have their right hand and both testicles removed with a hatchet as punishment for their crimes, just like they did back in the day of 1125

AD 1125. In this year sent the King Henry, before Christmas, from Normandy to England, and bade that all the mint-men that were in England should be mutilated in their limbs; that was, that they should lose each of them the right hand, and their testicles beneath. This was because the man that had a pound could not lay out a penny at a market. And the Bishop Roger of Salisbury sent over all England, and bade them all that they should come to Winchester at Christmas. When they came thither, then they were taken one by one, and deprived each of the right hand and the testicles beneath. All this was done within the twelfth-night. And that was all in perfect justice, because that they had undone all the land with the great quantity of base coin that they all bought.’

Unfortunately, those who lived beyond their means are the majority of voters in this country. They will always vote to confiscate the wealth of others under the guise of "it's for the children", all the while completely ruining the futures of said children. Personally, I blame the media and the teachers unions.

I guess I missed my reference to fox news, as far as I'm concerned all the cable, network and all msm in general is targeted propaganda. But I get your petty point, that if I am not a liberal I must be brain washed. That probably makes your point in your pathetic dependent mindset.
