well the thing is deffinatly not translucent. But where i am the sun is extreme hoping it will get enough light if not i will cut it in half till it gets bigger the put it back together

I'd do this.
In fact, i'd do it into many small pieces to allow maximum amount of light while still covering it to being seen from the side. That way, as it grows, you can add small pieces of it back on as needed. Cut like 2-3 inch cuts, but it's up to you....I'd also fill the inside with a reflective substance, or, something or the sort...GL man!

i do all of mine from my i phone but i have to put the pics on my comp first.. Well any ways i took that bitch out of that stupid tube and just moved it deeeeeep into the woods. Not trying to steal your thread but i figured i would share with you my new weird idea lol
this was cool, i had never seen anybody(other than myself) use a tube for growing
wasn't sure what good it would do, but then you can be surprised sometimes with things that work in unexpected ways

Yes i hear you there and to tell you the truth the thing was really thriving in there and was not noticing any problems with it at all. But any ways this is a grow that i am goign to be spliting with my father and i am doing it at his house. He started getting sketched out about this tube sitting in the back yard with a weed plant in there. So i decided to take it out of the tube and move it to no mans land.

Now isn't that something....

...weed in a tree...
weed in a tree? that's pretty f'ing eerie, i'm considering a tree grow myself
thinking about a throw up rope over a tree that goes kind of horizontal
there is a thread here of this one(very crazy) guy who grew up top of a 50 foot pine tree

I suppose if you had it on the rope and you could lower it down to water it and whatnot...what the rope would be a dead giveaway...

thinking more of using the rope for positioning in some kind of cradle in the tree
plan is to do no tree climbing, just haul the pot(maybe a bag) up into position, and grow from there
do the same for watering

no pics, but an update is worth while at this point
many pistil hairs, no signs of the balls(yet)
the parent had shown hermie signs at this point, guarded optimism has begun

getting a bit more interesting, 2 1/2 weeks into flower
1st thing, no balls yet, all pistils - but i've learned to take my time before celebrating
parent definitely showed the hermie trait at this point in flowering, that's 1 difference
offspring is a bit shorter, right around 14 inches, probably end up being shortest plant i've yet grown
lower branches bit stretchy though, more than usual, so quite a barrel cactus

She looks good man, a little cramped, but still good. My plants are about 2 and a half weeks into flower as well, should be interesting to see how they develop in comparison. Any idea on the genetics on your lady? Her short stature says Indica Dom, but, i'd still rather ask. :-P

parent, and i was just 1 parent(hermie), was a highgrade-seeds brainwreck
it's parentage is supposedly a trainwreck x white widow cross - breeder lists this as a 50-50 sativa/indica
definitely a fair amount of indica, but fairly sativa like in the upper leaves
the parent's smoke was was quite good, and the 50-50 description seemed to fit well

Good deal, should be nice, long as she doesn't get too stressed, she should make some great smoke.
I'd grow it. ;-)
I'm a little jealous of your hermie seed now.

thank you - that's the last thing i ever expected to hear about hermie seed
i've really no idea what the final result will be, but that does add a bit of excitement to the mix

Good luck with your hermie grow! I've just chopped my SLH and Vanilla Kush and found about 30-40 seeds on each plant so this is an interesting thread to me. I'm subbed! I think the VK was the one that hermed and I have no idea what to expect from those seeds. This is the first time for hermie seeds for me. Only been growing for 5 years or so.

glad to have you along, i see your story quite a bit out there
seeds, but no bananas seen - many explain this as they were well hidden
but i see some credible growers that swear they went through the plant(s) with a fine tooth comb, and had no visible male parts
just 1 more mystery in the dark secrets of MJ growing

I had my very first plant ever herm, but only during the last second, so the seeds weren't actual seeds, they were more like little crackle spot in the bud...(suuuucked)
But either way, i saw nothing to indicate she had switched teams on me. I however, am not what I would consider a professional grower, so I could have VERY EASILY just overlooked it.
