After 8 Weeks of Flowering

i agree. they are ready when they are ready. we use the number of weeks only as a guide nothing else. if the seed company says 8 weeks we know that from week 6-10 we'll possibly be harvesting. we've had plants that said 10 weeks be done in eight and others take longer. there are some variables can come into play which can determine when they are truly ready. Temperature being one...cooler temps such as the low 70's can delay the time needed to reach peak ripeness of the buds as the plants just grow slower.

just saying.

shannon you are correct. the weeks suggested is just that. use the trichs as the true guide of when they are ready.

Sorry rereading that I think I was stoned as hell little confusing.......At week 8 took off a nug dried it smoked it and it was a slight of a stone more of a headache.......Then week 9 or a day or 2 more did same thing and was really good kinda just melted you out with a good uplift at first.(really good with a few brews if you like that)
Just saying its a good way to find out when to chop cause drying out a little bit doesn't take long and if ready you can chop next day pretty much. Sometimes trichs can be tricky to read for some....Good way to know to what you like when you get a good look at trichs and chop when ready.
I prefer mostly cloudy with a start of amber just my pref.

Here's a lesson I learned. Last outdoor one plant was confusing cause of clear and cloudy and some amber all at once so when I was around week 8 I trimmed off a air bud from the bottom dried it out fast in a wood box with a fan in dark took maybe 8-9 hrs till smokable and wasn't ready waited a week did the same and it was good to go.
Don't count days just keep in mind where you are at but if it takes longer don't freak out cause that's what I did on first and its stressful and this ain't supposed to be that.
Wow you said it....This is the best, most fun, most full-filling hobby in the world...Bu,t I can honestly say this is the most stressfull too! ! ha ha...Oh yes, I've shed a few tears over ruined crops..... :(

i dnt count the first week of flowering. dont go by weeks either. the plant is ready when its ready.
And by that I don't think your helping much your just bragging cause you can tell when finished....Maybe you should tell why you think there ready....and help people out.
Sorry a little crabby just was tired of people saying ready when ready...cause if that was so easy for people then we wouldn't have these threads....

What i mean by "ready when its ready" its at the point in flowering where the trich's are partially amber around 20-30%. They will continue to turn for a day or two after harvest. Some people like them when they are cloudy, others when they are more than 20-30%; so ready when ready is whenever they are at the point that you like them. All clear isn't ready or at peak potency so harvesting at that point isn't a good idea.
