Serapis interpreted most of what I had wanted to convey but also I was trying to point out this (above underlined quote). Marijuana is no "magical plant" it has cannabinoids present in it as a self-defense mechanism to protect it's most vital part of existence, the ovaries (Buds). San Pedro, Peruvian Torch, Peyote, Psilocybe & Amanita Mushrooms, Datura, Morning Glory seeds and various plants used in the Ayahuasca brew all contain psychoactive chemicals which are/were treated as holistic medicines around the world... marijuana is not some selective plant we were meant to live in a symbiotic relationship with. Also marijuana produces side effects from chronic use as well, now its not like going into a seizure from not taking your benzos but negative side effects can/do occur. The problem with most psychoactive medication in general is that the positive effects of it are derived from the "negative effects" of intoxication, an since marijuana has a less subtle intoxicating feeling compared to low doses of benzos and narcotics it is seen more as just a recreational drug. I have panic attacks and alcohol helps me way more than xanax does but it also impairs me more which is the reason why I can't bring a bottle of grey goose and a shot glass to ease my stress at work and than tell my boss "Uh... I'm taking my medication...". My summary of what I am trying to convey to all of you is, Stop viewing marijuana on a political level and from just your ethical and moral views; start seeing it and the drugs produced by the "evil" pharmaceutical corporations on a pharmacological level
. I have absolutely nothing against marijuana or its users whether they're using it for medical or recreational purposes... I do have a problem with ignorance and arrogance (MMJ card flaunting) though.
Firstly, I'm really sorry to hear you have panic attacks, that really sucks. I'm glad you've at least found some way to help deal with them though.
So on with it; Despite the pharmacology, I personally do believe cannabis is a plant we as humans were meant to live in a symbiotic relationship with. Along with many others, some food, some psychedelic. And I do think it's magical, without the quotation marks.
It's not that the pharmaceutical corporations are evil, it's the lack of honesty and human empathy, and a focus on profits, in an industry that shouldn't be focusing on profits over people, when their industry literally
is people. You have to at least give that to the medical cannabis community, for every few people who are using it for profit, there are many clubs, dispensaries and growers who are using it to help needy people lacking resources get medicine for free or very low cost. And this medicine's 'side effects' are nowhere near as dangerous as those of opiates or benzos.
I feel I see substances on a a pharmacological level. But that isn't the only level as I'm sure you are aware. It is good to take in many perspectives. Thanks for yours. I also take issue with unnecessary flaunting of a misunderstanding of the purpose of a "medical marijuana license". But I suppose it too is part of the collective consciousness processing.
Also thank you for pointing out that I totally contradicted myself earlier, I guess sometimes it is hard to not view it as separate sides, instead of one huge collective consciousness going through collective processing on many levels.
Respect.
P.S. The comment about your name being negative, I always though the word referred to was 'Schwag', and I thought 'swag' was something cool you nab for free at event type places (I talked to the Sunmaster demo guy at the hydro trade show for 15 minutes, and look at all this swag I got! Free thouie, a mousepad, and a coupon or some shit), or as of late, a certain way of carrying oneself as to exude confidence and finesse (that nigga got swag, nam sayn). Anyways I'm hittin the Blarney Stone (22% THC 3.8% CBD Sativa, locally grown, dense, fairly dry nug, little smell, $18 a gram at the dispensary...worth it) and takin a nap, I'm tired from drowning my plants and then reading and typing about plants for hours....
