You clowns are right, a union has never been responsible for a company shutting down and moving over seas.

Can anyone say garment?

Most lefties never ran a unionized shop. By nature they are unproductive.

Get use to global competition.
get used to a sagging economy and lost jobs.

the rich will continue to hoard wealth while the majority of the country suffers.....

You're right, union's have never been responsible for companies moving overseas, the board/ceo/shareholders are. I beg to differ, I think they are more productive than a minimum wage worker. Would you be working your hardest for 10 dollars an hour? I sure as heck would not.

^ You need to open your eyes, to think that this is about what the unions want is absurd. It is about paying less money out in wages and making more profit for the shareholders and their dividends. You can bring up the auto workers union, did you know that Honda and Toyota workers are part of the same union the GM workers are in Canada? Honda and Toyota didn't fail, so it looks like it wasn't the unions that crippled them. Explain that.
Your reply made sense so of course it was ignored. Most of the manufacturing jobs lost in this country were not union to begin with. Don't blame the union workers, do blame the union leadership for not reacting sooner to inevitable changes.

Well when trumka has the unions of the WORLD unite which way do you see your pay check up or down? Yea the unions don't break companies they just move overseas for the cheaper labor(cause they made money and the unions think it belongs to them) Just now they reported that 4.8 million people have moved out of union only states. I wonder why? I still don't think the federal government has the right to tell Boeing they can't move to SC.

wow, are you ill informed....nice word for stupid. garment, shoes, autos, steel, and about a hundred others. lets just say, the best jobs in the industry at there peak.....all left for cheaper labor. the only unions left are basically 1 afscme (service employees), which are very quickly being replaced by illegals and over seas information/help centers. 2 education, which is slowly being shipped over seas through on line learning and cyber school and home school , and 3 skeleton electrical, plumbing, auto. crews. and guess where they are gonna go? the way of the dinosaur. get used to it, cuz its been happening for 35 years that i know of and it aint going back.

and i will bet the one in sc is probably over seas now.

what the union emplyees cost a company is astronomical. first off, pensions for public sector school employees where i live. they get full health paid for but 100 per month, and that just went up from 60. for retirement the worker gives a dollar up to seven %, school mathces, and state matches. thats right you heard me. every single school district in my state, every single worker gets those benefits. its fucking criminal cuz they arent negotiating with the company, they are negotiating with politicians.....that they donate heavily too. its so fucking underhanded, organized crime type shit.

"Hey can you help me carry this box?"

"Um no. You will have to speak with my union head"

"Wait for the box carrier guy. He is responsible for carrying boxes and his union head will come unglued if some else does his job. You shouldn't even be doing that."

"Where is he? I need this done now?"

"Mandatory break. You will have to wait."
You should generalize some more.........

David is not your enemy. The Unions were not responisble for the financial meltdown. They are not responsible for the plummeting average household income (quite the opposite actually).
Unions are not perfect, no one and nothing is perfect but to deamonize them the way most do is completely counter productive.

Well it looks like jerry brown in cali wants some more of your tax dollars to save the school union. Don't be shy give till it hurts and then give more. The unions need your money so give. PAY,PAY,PAY odumbass needs reelected, you don't believe the teachers are going to get a fucking dime out of it, DO YOU?

They will need a raise next year to so they can teach your kids socialism. Glad to hear that it is not the unions that are hurting the states
just the big companies.

Typical union bullshit. One day unions will go the way of the dinosaur and there is no amount of government involvement that can change that. Well unless the democrats make it illegal to not be in a union. They think the government has the power to make you buy health care so who knows why tyrannical bullshit they will try next.

The union protects workers from company owners who would take advantage of them. God bless the (culinary, not the united stated) Union.

Sadly i agree with you. Dark days are ahead. There will be the few the rich and the many the poor. Yes at this rate a two class system is inevitable.
You are so convinced to fight yourself its frightening. Vote against your own interests, fight to destroy the very social fabric millions of people died to build and protect.

Millions of people have died protecting unions? I thought they were supposed to prevent deaths, well unless you stand against one then they’ll crack your head.

My interest and a union’s are completely different. They don’t have the interest of the working person in mind, the have the union in mind. Many years ago they served a purpose but that ended with the creation of government organizations like OSHA.

This just doesn't make sense. I mean, unless you'd rather work for lesser wages and benefits unions absolutely work for your interests...

Have you ever tried to negotiate wages on your own? There are instances of limited success but many people who walk up to their boss alone and ask for a raise would sooner end up fired. I actually have an example of this: My girlfriend was expecting a 50 cent raise at her old job about a year ago. Her boss kept on promising this raise to her but never actually gave it to her... Eventually he fired her. He said they didn't have enough hours to go around and that he was cutting other peoples hours and may have to let another person loose... What really happened though, was two weeks later he hired another worker and never cut anyones hours (we have friends that still work there). The difference between my girlfriend and the new worker? Well, obviously the new worker was cheaper... minimum wage is $8.50 here and she was making $10. Nice bit of savings to be had, I guess.

What do you think happens in a union workplace? Oh yeah, the entire workforce works together to prevent this, sitting down as a whole and bargaining together. How is this a bad thing? Jobs move overseas? Once you consider that most jobs moved overseas are paying even less than what our non-union workers do(due to minimum wage laws) it doesn't make any sense to blame unions for those job losses. Does it? I dont think so.
