ok so when i first began this little hobby i rushed into the purchase of the crappiest 400w light ever....

of coures i have realized that more watts = more buds so i upgraded to a 1000w air cooled hortilux from hydrofarm.

sooooooooo.....

what to do with this crappy light?????

something crafty of course!

look at her now!

her new job is to aid in the switch-over to HID in the first phase of flower, sort of as a stepping stone to the 1000 watter!

(it may cost more depending on if you have the duct work)

Also... you have nothing reflecting the light back down...i trimmed the reflector so it fit in the tube so i waste less light!

BTW...your cool tube helped me build mine ! thanks!

both of my reflectors are cooled with a 185cfm fan equiped with a DIY carbon filter. i vent them into the attic.

Where on you guys cool tubes are you grounding the green wire at the tube? I'm not to good with wiring just trying to be as safe as possible when wires are involved. I had a older 400w hps laying around, but spent $300 bucks on a new one. My flowering space is 40" w x 40"D x 72"H with a 400w hps. Was thinking about adding another 400w hps to my grow making it be 800w total in flowering room. Hopefully the temps wont rise to much. Any and all inputs are welcome. DAM THIS DIY SHIT IS KICKASS keep it coming guys. thanks oleschool

mine is grounded to the actual reflector inside the tube...not sure if thats the safest thing in the world ... but it works...wait till you see the growth difference...

Great job, man. I wish more people took such initiative.
