Tonight I went out to see two of my girls, so I decided I'd give those of you browsing through here an update.
Upon arrival my heart sank. My biggest plant was leaning pretty hard on my fencing. I checked to make sure it didn't get tore out of the ground by the wind we've experienced. As it turns out, some little fucking critter nibbled a centimeter or two into the main stalk. Keep in mind that this was my biggest and most beautiful plant. Needless to say, I was PISSED. Luckily, The plant was still in perfect health and allowed me to straighten it back out for the most part. However, it doesn't look as good as it did before. I guess I can get over that as long as she kicks ass through the rest of the season.
In order to prevent further damage, I will be applying metal fencing to the lower portions of my plastic chicken wire to keep animals from chewing through like the culprit did. I'm guessing it is some kind of mouse or a rabbit. Definitely too small of holes to be a raccoon. A picture of the stalk is below, if you've had a similar experience feel free to let me know what kind of animal you had trying to steal your goodies.
On a positive note, the other plant was doing just fine. She seems to be a little stretched due to lack of sunlight, but I kind of have to just deal with it. My spot is open enough to allow at least 4-5 hours of light. I was sure it would get more when I chose the spot; however, the surrounding vegetation is now very dense and tall.
I plan on visiting my 5 gallon bucket plant within the next few days. It was relocated to an area that gets sun nearly the entire day. I'm anxious to see how she looks.
