IM a very first time growing hoping to learn how to grow quality pt in my spare room i have one 400 mh an hoping to grow 16 to 30 plants under it an yeild one to 2 pounds every 4 months it will be soil grown indoors an i need advice on how to reach my goal of 2 lbs every 4 months soil grow.

Need a few more $1000's to be tossed into your project to get that kind of yield.
400Watts will not cut it.

initially you would be hoping for 0.5g per watt of light used. 400w 200g or there abouts.

Just about 4medium sized plants under that 400w with anything from 50g upwards per plant. Depending upon many other factors such as environment, nutes, skill level, pest infestations and stress etc will play a big part in yield.


You could try SCROG or SOG to increase yields.


Many growers on here struggle to break 1g per watt. What you are talking about is near to 2.5g per watt.


What you want to do is possible but you would need something like 3x400w for flowering, T5 setup for keeping a mother, propagation areas etc.

just stick with the 400 watter at the minute and do a few plants, your first grow is where you will learn the most. once you have the skill and knowledge then take on a larger grow with a 2/3 400w lights. good luck with it!

yeah i have to agree with everyone, 400 watts will not cut 16plants let alone 30, got to upgrade.

all of you were once first time growrs help me out let me knw wht i need to do to suceed with what i got an if i should even grow that many plants for my first time

Well instead of jumping on here asking stupid questions like i have a 400w and want 6million gram yeilds but ive never grown before and dont know what im doing , take some time to show some respect , read the help stickies , get to know the place and read as much as you can , then we might give you some help !!! i hate people who think they can make loads of money quick by growing a few plants ! your clearly not in it for the love of growing like most of us and its people like you (30 plants in spare room, quick turn around) that stop us getting our bud legalized !

read the stickies at the top of newbie central forum.

Look for grow room design and setup on google.

Each light has a maximum footprint of usable light.
1x400w - 1mx1m
1x600w - 1.2mx1.2m
1x1000w - 1.5mx1.5m

learn to grow before you go BIG! expand once you learn what makes em tick!

whoa whoa whoa you dont know me or what i want to do ive read read an read scrog sog type grows watched videos an everything an i still dont understand it an if you got a freakin medical card like i do then maybe ur bud is legal dick!!!!!!!!!! i just registerd todaay barely knw how to work the forum i just want to smoke my midcine in peace an never run out

You've got a lot of homework to do, lol. Not a dig, I feel for ya. Play with that 400w for a few months while you read everything you can about growing pot, accumulate your hardware, then take a week off and build your room. I put $1500 into 2 small closets, both 400w and it took me a couple of months to buy/research everything.

You're going to have a lot of fun with this, best of luck to you!!!

Maybe he's just excited, like you were when you started growing. Coming into NEWBIE CENTRAL and hating on the newbs, lol... you've got issues.

I agree with everybody, my 3rd grow will have four plants and I will have my hands full with that. I'm impatient and have to have what I want when I want it. Once I learned to enjoy watching them grow I actually look forward to checking their progress everyday and not so much anticipating them bring finished...my own marijuana zen garden.
