just spent 15 dollars for a new 55 watt cfl only to have it shatter in my hand as i screwed it in to the light fixture. i feel like giving up but have a beautiful plant that depends on me can i get some words of encouragement

You'll be OK. I would return it to the store and tell them what happened.. Piece of shit should not shatter in your hand. Tell them you don't appreciate shoddy bulbs that can hurt you

nope weren't wet or sweaty just walk in and thought my plant will love this and it shattered i got away with minor cuts no harm came to my plant and ya i should just get anouther but it has been one of those days where it seems like nothing goes right so i will wait till tomarrow to get a new one

yeah these guys are right...fuck a broken light....even if you gotta eat the costs, think of the 2g of homegrown dank that will make it forgetfull

if it makes you feel any better ive broken my fare share of grow supplies over the years, spilled 1/2 bottles of nutes, broke plants, broke lights, broke fans LOL, yeah it makes me mad lol but when harvest time comes i forget it happened.

For what it is worth..

never screw in or out a CFL by putting any pressure on the glass ... make sure you do it from the base.

I know it is written on a lot of packaging, but no one ever reads the 'how to screw in a light bulb section'.. but ya, they will break quite easy... make sure to wash up well and ventilate room too..

yes this is very true i did use the blub to screw it in and it broke so i will be more careful from now on

yud think so...but the glass is soo thin it comes apart like a leper in a wrestling match LOL

shit ,is your hand ok? Bro you have to move the plant around the house/unit and give them sunlight (as it changes angles thru the day) near the windows, imo this will give you better results than a 55w cfl anyway.Wait till u can spare another $15 if u insist on the light. Eat first.
