Strange Leaf Curling!

ive got 3 plants of the same strain. on one of them, the top set of fan leaves are curled down as if overwatered. also, the sides of the leaves are bent upwards, almost like a canoe. since this has happened, a new set of leaves has grown out and they seem normal. its only these two leaves doing this. this also happened on one of the other ones, but has since fixed itself. it was also only two leaves, at the top.

im thinking it was a Ph issue, since my RO water im using is high. ive started putting Ph down to fix it though. i just found it odd that it happened to two of the three plants, and one healed while the other just got worse. theyre all being fed the same thing... RO water, molasses, and superthrive.

anyone know what this is?

imho sounds like a heat or too close to the light issue. Leaves are minimizing their surfaces by folding.

theyre outdoors. and i dont think it is a heat issue because they dont go back to normal at night. its always like that

sounds like a bad phenotype in the strain. ive had retarded sets of leaves come on out door plants that never had nutes then they would fix them selves if it were the claw which is usually heat related it would be all over the plant and all of the plants if its a soil or ph issue it would also be more wide spread. just my thoughts. maybe a pic or 2 would help

yeah i thought it was wierd that its just these two fan leaves. and the other plant was just two fan leaves also, about the same height. very odd. heres some pics

in the pics, it looks like some of the other ones in the background r like that too. they arent. its a bit windy today, so i think i caught them in the middle of a gust or something

alright so i talked to the friend that gave me this strain. he grew them all out from seed, and said some did this last year too. so i do think it is a strain mutation. pretty interesting

Not a strain mutation, why the ro water, is your soil getting deficient in salts, mag, cal, sodium etc etc?

i added dolomite lime to my soil, so i dont think i need them from my water. i think my area has a bunch of chlorine and stuff in the tap water, so i just play it safe and go with the RO

Yer dolomite lime will probably do it, if it was a heat problem i would think that the problem would fix itself at night when temps got cooler, is there any noticable difference in the leaves with the different temperatures or brtween night and day??

Forget all the hassel just use superthrive at 5ml per gallon throught veg. That should keep your plant in tip top shape...

you think dolomite did it? i only put in 1 cup per cu.ft. of soil.
and no, temperature doesnt seem to affect it at all. the leaves have since continued to claw downwards more and more. its still just those leave. new growth seems alright

Ok so when did you lime the soil? How long before planting? Lime takes a while to work to its full abilities outside, RO water dose not help. If it is just the older leaves i would say an NPK or mag deficiency, how are you fertilizing?

Your right it's not a nutrient and no the lime didn't cause that, you have the perfect ratio in there

i limed the soil probably a week before i planted them. im not fertilizing, just water with some molasses, which ive stopped using temporarily

Got a proper veg fert? I wouldn't say molasses was suited for the outside or a complete fert. This may be worth a try, one dose of a proper veg fert and see if it is good or bad for the plant. Liming one week before planting means there is a good chance the lime hasn't buffered the ph properly yet as well.
