Multiple Colas On This Plant?

I planted 6 clones that Ive been growing for some time now, they were about 3'' when I got them. I topped all the plants ONE time and from what I have researched understood it that each time you top the cola growth doubles...1top=2colas..2top=4colas etc. But my plant seems to have multiple growing. Is it possible that the clones were cut in such a way that its forcing more colas to grow, or is the plant just bushy? its only been in 12/12 for about 2 weeks.
whatdoyathink? (sorry that pics are sideways my phone seems to do that)

its all in the chemicals baby ;)
Your growing tip is the plants number one focus in its vegitative state. By topping the plant, the chemicals devoted to the top are diverted to the next 2 nodes off the stem, or in some cases where the nodes are split it will mostly effect the uppermost node. In super cropping, you lower the top of the plant below the top 2 nodes, this also tricks the plant into diverting its energy to the top node, or now nodes.
Grow your plant long enough and it'l develope a trunk that'l stay thick from the roots to the Y and up along both top branches. Top those, and you've diverted the split energy for the two growing tips to the two top nodes on either branch and allowed for the formation of 4 colas.
The cola is a huge bud formed from the proximity of all those new growth bud sites. It's the plants best place to accept light and its given top priority by the plants genetics.

To make it simple for you........... You had clones. odds are the nodes were actually alternating on the main stem. When you topped it (to high up) all the side branching shot up. Since your in flower just trim the very lower portion of you plants. Your going to have multiple colas.
