so im pretty sure my plant is a female, but i just wanted to make sure and gather some opinions on the matter. the pics were taken during the night, so they came out kind of pretty shitty. thanks for the help.
those are stipules i couldnt tell sex from those pictures. how long have they been in 12/12?

tonaloc989 they are still in their veg cycle.......it is an outdoor plant. summers here in texas provide much light to have a long veg cycle :). i thought i would be able to tell the sex by now, but your saying it wont show sex until it is about to flower? and what exactly are stipules and their function?

I dont really see any thing to call it either way for sure yet ... be careful with flashes and letting light in after the lights go out .. you dont want to stress and or hermie them . I am assuming you are giving them 12 hours of darkness to start the flowering stage ? how long ?

edit : your last post wasnt up when I started this one lol ... outdoor huh ... wont sex till fall then ...

nah dude....its an outdoor so im letting it go through its natural grow cycle. i figure it wont start flowering until end of august mid september sometime.

its hard to tell this early, but basically the first sign is going to be the calyxes, which is in the same vicinity as those stipules, which look like little beans kinda. If they look like they're coming directly from the branch, then it's a female. If they look the same, but extended from the branch by a tiny stem, then they're male.

if you really have to know the sex ASAP, then as soon as you see indistinguishable little calyxes, cut a clone or two, and immediately induce flowering via 12/12 photoperiod. the sex should become apparent after a few days or so

+rep if this helps

unless you have multiple 1000w lights i would definitely consider a shorter period of time
