I ordered a $7 scale (300 grams max, 0.1 gram measure) for measuring the bags I buy. Anyways, anyone know a good way to make sure it works properly? I dont have any calibration weights or anything![]()
Thanks![]()
nickel method is very common
If you're in USA then a nickle is 5.0 grams give or take .2. You can callibrate it with 20 nickles if you need a 100 g weight.
For better calibration 2 test weights would probably be better..whats a nickel weigh? 5 grams?
A nickel should weigh 5 grams, hence the name
post the link man. i wanna see this 7 dollar scale
this.. try weighing a bunch of nickels. there is gonna be a variance. a calibration weight is the way to go.I know different coins can sometimes weigh different amounts depending on the year that it was made and what it was actually made from. Just get a calibration weight instead. you can buy them at like ebay.com or a site like scaleforweed.com
Uh...five year old thread, guys.....

5 year old thread, but this is the info that counts, the info posted today.. not all nickels weigh the same. use a calibration weight instead. it's cheap as fuck, and it's accurate..I know different coins can sometimes weigh different amounts depending on the year that it was made and what it was actually made from.
