How Much Light Can Plants Handle? PICS

i have a self made plant problems chart with info and pics but none match this problem
plants are 7"to 8" tall been on a 20/4 light time for a month
new leaves start off dark green color then slowly change to a light green.
the undergrowth leaves stay forest green, till they grow out of upper leaves shade then that part of the leaf slowly turn yellow then white from the tips inwards,
light distance is around 10" to 13" (no heat problem)

change the output depending on temps if go above 82 degrees light goes off

78-82 degrees, 400w 13,500-22,900

73-77 degrees, 600w 25,000-42,200

Ya a pic of the whole plant would help a lot.

It is possible that it is bleaching, but that tends to be pretty rare. Are your lights HPS or MH? Distance from plants? A plant only needs 10-12k lumens to operate efficiently, though i skate by with considerably less (often only 5-7k lumens per plant) frequently.

Get us some more pics, and a few more details, and we'll see where it goes from there.

I am having the same type burns decided that my light was to close. I also had nut. lock do to hot res. water in my DWC setup. that damb tex. heat is hard to handle.

i had a similar problem with one directly under a 1000 watt. i originally thought it was from the light because only a few leaves were like that. then i moved the light up and moved the plant over a little. it started to yellow more. the tips were burnt too. before i knew it 75% yellowed. then i realized it wasn't getting enough nutes. o i doubled up the nutes. after about 10 days it got a lot more greener. still has a little yellow but its in flush mode now. but since it was mal-nurished it kind of lowerd the yield from what i was usually getting.

I've had a plant that was green and nice everwhere - execpt where it received most of the light. It was not too close to the light, other plants where fine at same distance. It was not healthy enough to handle maximum light, and I never figured out why.

Are those in party cups? Thy look like they're root bound. That's probably it. Transplant them into a bigger pot! When I put my clones into party cups. They are root bound in 5 days and then transplant them into 3 gal buckets.

none of this is any sort of answer of what i asked
i have read that glass can cause a vitamin deficiency but not any good info

Yes you have way to much light way to close for plants that are in 16oz cups in a space of 2 1/2 milk crates.

You obviously have the dimmable ballast.....turn it down to the lowest setting.

You need to transplant....but i don't see much of an option other than 1 gl which isn't much for 600 watts.

They need food.

The ideal amount is somewhere around 7000-10,000 lumens/sqft, (-and as long as the plants do not burn, as much light can be used as you want)

finally found something, thanks people for advice

never dim down your lights with out changing to a lower wattage bulb. that will fuck up your bulbs if you don't

I've ran the super lumens and dimmed the same bulbs for over a year.
The bulb was still nice and bright. I finally changed them out after 3 flower cycles and 4 veg's
Noticed it was brighter. The lumina depricition was not to bad. I honestly will keep using the digilux.
A good bulb for the price
I say use a bulb designed for the digi balasts, and it should last.
My bulbs are still operational, so now I've got a great backup!!
Now back to the subject
What's your ph of you nuits?
What'r you giving them and at what consentration?
How long have they been in those pots?

i dont let my plants get above 80 cause the leaves get dried out looking after just a hour or two.at this temp. it happens when temps outside get above 95 degrees which is about once or twice a week.
i have a liquid ph test kit so i cant give any numbers on that.
iam feeding 1/4 strength 18-18-21 tomato feed about 1 in 6 watering,i watch for nuit burn pretty closely and cant feed much more then that.

super lumens shortens the life of your bulb and depreciates the lumens. dimming say to 400 watts with a 1000 watt bulb or 600 will greatly affect your bulb much more than super lumens. it will degrade at a much faster rate.
