DWC Scrog Throwdown Growdown 2011

I installed the screen today. LST is not my thing I don't guess. Lol! Train these babies to the screen.
Carefully remove the male if there is one when I switch to 12/12. Hoping for 3 females though
Screen is 7 inches above cooler and light is 16 inches above the screen

7 inches is awfull close for the screen jmo... i think 12 gives better access n options to cross over limbs when necesary. also found it difficult to trim under canopy due to jungle like growth in that limited a area. but to each his own.

Yeah I agree. Mine is at 12inchs too. This will keep the buds at the top. Otherwise you'll get a lot more vegetation above your screen.

Not crying. Thanks for the hankey tho. As far as the screen height goes. I went 6 inches last grow and yielded half pound with 2 plants. IMO with 12 inches you end up cutting away nearly an oz of undergrowth. With 6-8 inches I have mimimum under cutting and with my setup I can still water with no problems. I'm glad we are in disagreement. This way we can compare the difference the different heights make. I also use bleach in small amounts instead of H2O2. Im sure we differ on that issue as well. Thats why this is a Throwdown Growdown. Now it's gonna get interesting in here. Lol!

loving all the comparing and recomendations everyone is making. good bantering keeps things interesting in a good way as long as someone doesnt turn it into a rant. as growers we all have different styles and beliefs. i find it interesting to hear of others experiences with whatever they choose to do. sometimes i run into someones discripton of whatever and it becomes an ahha! moment that makes the random thoughts come togeather into the whole i was searching for. does that make sense? any way, great job everyone!! im enjoying this... oh n your welcome for the hankey i was just measuring n thinking i could not get my hands in a 6" low screen, much less with some pruners. may be why my preference for a larger area. have rather large hands jmo

Yea I have big hands too. I just don't see the point in cutting all the undergrowth. That is my main reason for 7. I had good results in first and hope to see better this time. U should keep track of your cut off amount from your undergrowth. Just a thought. Or run a side by side. I read somewhere of someone running side by side an 8 and 12. 8 inch produced more. Cuz all the cutting makes for the plant to have slow downs and putting that energy into healing itself. Different methods from different growers will result in more people knowing what the hell a DWC Scrog is. Lol!

Yea bro. Im really excited with the timing because the majority of the swelling is just starting and voila....theres a jump from 51K lumens to 95K lumens

And there is no reason really to cut off the excess.
IMO 12 inches is a waste of bud unless you want 3 ft tall plants.
I don't want em that tall. Oh well. To each their own.
We will get to see the varied results from the different methods and styles.
Comparisons and experiments help me to learn better.

agreed lbh i couldent wait till i could open up and see what i could pull or tuck i did run into some maintenance issues as i had a 4x4 screen in a 4x4 tent without any room to access the back. allowed it to get somewhat unruly.

I moved my screen lower like Blus, and this is my second SCROG.

agreed lbh i couldent wait till i could open up and see what i could pull or tuck i did run into some maintenance issues as i had a 4x4 screen in a 4x4 tent without any room to access the back. allowed it to get somewhat unruly.

It would be ideal to be able to walk completely around the screen. I'm not setup for that tho.
Maybe in the future somewhere

i even set up my aero unit on casters but was still such a bitch to get to the back. ill def do it again but without propper access to the scrog i will just wait untill i do. im working on that.
