Most profitable and safest state to grow?

Posted a thread earlier about going to Cali to start growing but didn't get alot of positive feedback - many saying its overpopulated and everyone has the same idea. Any other good areas in the US to grow and make a great profit, where its still safe? I'm in the Philadelphia area. Is our best bet to just move into a secluded place in the woods on a lot of land somewhere? Thanks!

PS - We love weed but not going to lie the industry seems to be booming with potential to make alot of money and that is very enticing to us both. Please don't hate just help! Much appreciated :)

there are plenty of places in califonia that arent over populated. I doubt San Diego or Sacramento are anywere near as populated as Philly, and if they are its over a much larger area... Another plus is no crack heads, we do have tweekers though which is almost as bad. there is a lot of farmland in CA too and if you wanna grow its definitely a pretty safe state to do that in

Why not? I have start up money, am familiar with the product for I am a daily smoker. Just bought a few books on growing marijuana at the bookstore and am reading up on it. My boyfriend and I are extremely intelligent and it seems pretty straightforward. What have you found to be the most difficulties you've come across? Maybe you can help us instead of criticizing and we can learn from yours (and others) mistakes. From one smoker to another :)

it takes A LOT of practice, there are so many different problems that come up that even if you read through the entire book you would have a hard time with. Growing is all about being able to communicate with your plants in order to see what it needs. If you havent grown before dont have ANY expectations for your crop otherwise you will be dissappointed, however you will also be proud of what you've accomplished.

i think if someone is ready to move to another state and everything that comes with that alone you probably are just looking for something different and better... do what your heart tells you to do and if you want to grow weed and thats a major priority then i also say go with that.. the worst that could happen is you hate where you live and your weed dies... if you have enough heart and dedication and a place to gather knowledge i think you will be fine... Do whatever you think is right for you two and good luck hope you post pics along the way... im sure everyone is pulling for you and will follow your story...

happy growing!

I would say Colorado is very safe, but not very profitable since everyone has tried to make their money off the MMJ movement here. A lot of legal states have saturated markets as you have been told. I would move to a place you WANT to live and go from there. If you grow for the love of it rather then banking on the fact it will produce then things will go a lot smoother in my opinion and there will be less heartbreaks. It does take practice, but you have to start somewhere :)

If you are talking illegal, profit and safety don't come hand it hand usually. Safest = some random piece of land that no-one will ever go to (and neither will you too often hopefully), where as for profit you're either looking at some monster outdoor mofos, or a large scale indoor op. Or if the state is legal, then you know what to do :)

Alaska no one in the world can find you out their
Alaska isnt a safe place either! Growing and profit shouldnt be your main goal
MJ is a medicanal plant and the profit aspect is whats keeping it iligal.
Cali has way to many dispenserys and people just like you tying to make
Money off it. Growing for profit will get you busted

If you start with proven genetics you'll have a good chance of harvesting. It's a weed, and like other plants, you don't have to be a genius to master the art of growing. You will find yourself addicted to it after your first harvest.

Cannabis is a spiritual plant, and if you're a spiritual person, you can communicate your needs to your ladies. They will in turn formulate a special blend just for you. If you're greedy, and in it just for the money, I've seen good genetics, or plants pick up on those vibes, get offended and will not produce potent flowers. It's a crazy theory indeed, but all living things have a spirit.

When the spirit body separates from the physical body, you then have what us mortals refer to as death. If you have love in your heart for your fellow man, and produce positive vibes, you and your crop will be happy. Landraces are great for beginners, and pure indicas are easy to grow. Harvest hem early and they'll get you high. Harvest late and you'll get awesome medical benefits.

If you're intelligent, look for ways to help people that help those who are truly sick. Look outside the box. Like the gold rush of 1849, supplying the miners/growers is an opportunity in itself. I have some great ideas and plans on this subject. I'm from TN, but I'm sitting here in LA writing this as I visit family. If you're interested in acquiring wealth without losing your integrity, remember what the intention of the spirit of the law was when it was written. Too many people are perverting the law for money, and it's putting legal growers in the same class with cartels. Find a niche that's profitable, and benefits humanity. Patients in Mich are getting crapped on. That's a great place to find needy patients, and you can never fail if you have a desire to help those that are suffering.

What about Mass? I have only been there on business but seem pretty liberal. For medicinal purposes, I don't know how saturated it is. My understanding its decriminalized for under 1oz possession so maybe there is plenty there already.

Yeah now in Mass you just get a 100 dollar ticket for under an ounce. Not legal yet though unfortunately. Supposedly next year they are supposed to be voting on it for medicinal purposes.

Try growing a little and see if its for you maybe . Some people are naturally good at it . I have had to work at it a bit and still am not doing it for profit , just for me . Im not good enough to make money at it but like I said to some it comes easier than others . Good luck !

If you think it's just going to be plant, water and add nutes, its not much more complicated especially if ur planning outdoor in cali. Mold, bugs , rippers, LEO and thats just before harvest. Most don't realize the work it takes and it is work. Trimming is also major time killer, you dont start out being able to trim 2+ pounds an hr especially if your a newbie, and your buds probbly won't be as big as you see on here unless you put a lot of time nd care into it, even so don't expect it first harvest. And with big buds comes mold especially if not enough air circulation like outside or close to coast(cali) I would get at least a couple grows under my belt b4 moving across country to start new career.

Your looking for profit. Then it won't madder where u go. In Cali to do it you will need a house with good power. And no not a rental. You will need all the power you can use during build. That way pg&e won't check your power. Snd when u do get going it will take 4 mounths to even get rid of it. And that's if you find a few place that can use that much if they even want it. And if you go over 99 plants u can get in deep shit. Then trimming they are picky of how you trim so it takes awhile. No fucken trimmers all by hand. For being a non grower that would be a really bad idea. And is not easy so think about it.

All and all it's a stupid idea to find a location to grow for profit. 1 thing you make it harder for us med growers to get it legal. Second you will be in jail fast. Get a real job grow a few plants and see how you like it.

You know it's a nice dream to grow your own and maybe be able to sell some . And there are sure people doing that . I have maybe grown around a dozen different times between 4 and 50 plants . Out of the 50 I ended up with 20 plants that I harvested close to 4 pounds of skunk #1 - great smoke that I shared with my father who sold a little and made a small ammount of money, cause we smoked most of it . That was the best I ever did , nothing I could make a living at , and me and Dad busted our ass looking after them and sweating whether or not people could smell it . Man you could smell it down the street . It was a lot of time researching , had a shitload of males and a few that didn't make it , not at all as easy as we thought . We didn't have RIU then or even a computer . Try it . Keep quiet about it to people you know that will limit your chance of getting busted or ripped off . Check out this site to help theres a lot of people here who really know the stuff I have to guess at .

Basic economics prevails, it is all about risk vs rewards and supply vs demand. You would be most profitable in areas where it would be perhaps illegal to grow. The areas where growing is easiest and most legally excepted does have a more saturated market, and thus less profitability. One of my biggest fears is that it will become nationally legal and universally accepted, and Costo or Walmart will put everyone out of business. Big companies will not only have the money to crush the market, but also the political clout to create barriers of entry to competition.

its expensive, a lot of work and often not rewarding (enough). personally if I had it to do all over again I'd just buy my weed. I've spent who knows how much on this and that. then problems arise and its time to spend more(if you catch it in time). fuck growing weed.
