Did I make a mistake when topping my plant?

I topped my plant above the 4th node when it had 5 nodes, instead of following Uncle Ben's thread about cutting above the 1st or 2nd node. I do want 2 or 4 colas.

Since I cut above the 4th node, will this produce ANY colas at all? Somebody said it would just be a bushy plant with 8 bud sites, did he mean only 8 nugs, as in NO colas produced at all?? and will that lower my yield??

If so, should I "RE-TOP" my plant above the 1st/2nd node to get 2/4 colas?

You should be ok. But if you want to take it down another node, why not?

Don't worry, your plant can handle it at this point.

I would let it go, but that's just my opinion. You have it right though, top above the second node for the 4 dominant leaders. The reason you wait so long is to allow the roots to become well established. From my experience it also helps to wait for the lower most branch to grow a little for an even 4 leader canopy. When I allowed these things to happen, the plants didn't seem to experience any stress or stunting and maintained an even canopy on it's own.

I don't know if auxin's re-redistribute, but I wouldn't be surprised if they would. I would let it go this time. If you provide your current plant with a healthy environment you won't be disappointed by any means.

Don't forget to use the cuts to experiment with clones if you haven't already. Good luck

I'm not too sure about the strain, but it's pretty tall as in large spaces between each node. Well I didn't really follow his advice because I was following a youtube video and reading other people's comments and thought it would still give me 2 colas. Also, at the first node, a top on one side is about 5 inches long, and the other top on the other side is only about a 1/4 inch long (it's weird).

So will this plant produce any colas at all? And will my yield be affected?

I doubt it will produce what you think of as a cola, but the top buds still nice if all other things are in line (nutrients,medium, light, frequency of watering etc.). What's nice about Uncle Bens method is, you get 4 leaders, but off of those 4 leaders are other "side" branches with large buds.

It's hard to say if the yield how much the yield would be affected by or if at all. I would think it would be close.

No, I haven't been rotating. I didn't notice this huge 5 inch to 1/4 inch tops until recently. I'll rotate the plant immediately! Thanks for the tip.

And even WITHOUT a cola, the yield would really be around the same??

If it's as tall and vigorous as you say, it could get fairly rangy and outgrow your space. I would take it down to the sacond or third node and probably get at least 4 spectacular colas, and a manageable situation.

Thanks for all the help. I am growing outside but yeah not "too" much room. I mean, I just want to maximize the yield and I don't want a plant with only 8 nugs and a small yield since there won't be any colas as one person had said, in the case that "no" colas do develop. Do you think it will develop some colas? It's just those uneven tops at the first node (one 5 inches, one 1/4 inch) as to the reason why I am hesitant to topping again at the 2nd node, but I am starting to rotate the plant as Agent 47 suggested to grow out that shorty one.

I'm still debating, but I might just let it grow and see what happens.
