I wrote every one of my representatives in both state and federal regarding their respective bilsl introduced. Stabenow and Poleski are the only ones that responded. Here's what Stab me now sent back:

As you may know, on May 14, 2001, the United States Supreme Court issued a ruling regarding medical marijuana. The decision stated that since marijuana is classified as a Schedule I drug, its distribution is not legal under federal law. I assure you that I will keep your views in mind should similar legislation come before me in the Senate.

Again, thank you for sharing your views with me. If I can be of assistance to you or your family in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me again.

So she basically ignored my letter. I was telling her about Ron Paul's bill to remove marijuana from schedule 1 and legalize, and she responded with this. Un-fucking-believeable. She's more than useless and its obvious she doesn't want to hear from us "subjects".

I'm up for helping in any way that I can. If we are to be effective we don't need to bluntly punch our opposition in the face we need to slowly work our way into influence cause then people feel a lot less threatened. We need to make sure that the other side feels like they are being heard and make sure they know we know exactly where they stand. Then we need to have thought out and professional answers to those objections. We can't snap we have to show maturity and respect. Those pillars are what this perspective great orginaztion can build on.

And sheep dog you have to understand that at least she said she would keep those thoughts in mind with future legislation that is a lot different then the out right no responses I have received. Im sure she could be moved to vote yes if she receives several letters and emails. At least 100-200 or beyond.

I got the same form letter. Ugh. I'm still going to write her back after I get over being mad.

Haven't heard from Levin. My rep replied what did I expect he is a former FBI agent. They all need to go.

I have Publisher on my computer, so if you guys help with the data that'll need to be put on the form I'll make a flier for us. I can post it here and you guys critique it, I'll make the necessary changes. Then the people who want to help can download it (I'll turn it into a pdf) and this way we'll have uniformity in our appearance so we will start to establish an identity.

The first flier should be about getting the compassion clubs together for a meeting to determine what the board will be. I'm hoping that someone from there will step forward and give this the support and focus it needs.

We think we should have one or two people from here on the board too. This way it will have everyone's best interest at heart.

The second flier will be for the 'Walk the Halls'.

The I'd go to the clinics and the doctors that advertise for a start. 'They' say that there will be an effort to charge these doctors with being a mmj scrip mill. When in reality they are doing the job they have always wanted to do-helping patients.

I guess we need a flier for the doctors, too. Maybe, they should be invited to attend the first meeting with the compassion clubs. The more the merrier.

We have to figure out a way to consolidate this fractured market. If we can get the compassion clubs, the medical community, the patients (be that groups or individuals) together then I believe it will take on a life of it's own.

After that or while we are doing all this other stuff, I think we should put some pressure on the manufacturers of the products we use to help cover the basic costs of what we are trying to do. They may want to have their logo on the fliers we make. It would give me the warm feelies for them and I'd use their products because of it too. Well, as long as they were good products.

Geez, I forgot about all the grow shops. They depend on this too.

We need them all. You do realize if this is done right it could be huge. We need to pick an absolutely perfect date!

Maybe we should think of doing this every year on the same date? Each year could have a different sets of legislation we'd like and we could physically hand it to the politicians. It would be nice if the news programs were there to witness it. Put the real pressure on them.

Just a thought.

Keep up the good work WinterWoman! The only thing I can really say is keep it a grass roots type thing, rather than forcing people to pay into the organization. The last thing we need is to look like we're a union. We can be involved, have political sway, and hold politicians feets to the fire. We need to keep speaking the truth, not be subject to talking points, and not let elected officials take over the monement.

Similarily, when the TEA Party was starting out, they were saying a lot of things that made sense to me. I went to a couple of events, ran into old friends that were politically opposite of me, and generally felt like we were scaring the crap out of politicians on both sides of the isle. They don't hold allegience to any political party. I think thats the hardest thing for politicians and people who only vote one party or the other don't understand. I think we can take some valuable lessons from what they have done and incorporate them into our movement. But we need to be wary of all politicians, because they will literally try and hijack the movement and turn into something that we may not want, or to make them rich off of medical patients.

Sorry to get off topic, and have no desire to start in any political debate about the goods/evils people believe the TEA Party is. But I think there are definately lesson to be larned from that movement.

No, no, it isn't off topic it has to be nonpartisan. We should owe to no one.

It should be a grass roots kinda thing, absolutely.

The idea of manufacturers is probably wrong. The compassion clubs and grow stores might be willing to cover the cost of printing fliers, but that might not be available either.

Just because you plan it, doesn't mean they will participate.

Actually, we need ideas for the compassion club, doctors, grow shops invitation to participate fliers. Time is ticking on us.

If they do accept we need a meetup place like a county park or something? It needs to be a meetup for them and the people who agree to do the footwork from here only. Nothing big, we need to be able to communicate and make plans without it turning into a party atmosphere. This really is serious business.

Before you build you must have.... a foundation, guidlines, expectations, material list, inventory list.. etc

The story of the rabbit and the turtle.. do you remember it?

The foundation my dear must come first. Orginization must take place. Before you are to gather any flock.

Do you even have a place to hold this meeting.... Do you know what raw materials lay at your finger-tips? No you don't, inventory has not taken place yet.

I wanna build something un fucking breakable. A thick foundation will be laid before I grab a nail.

One more thing I will note that seeing as how I have never met any of you... I will not invest much... I may not even like any of you? Ha ha ha. No seriously I may not like any of you and you may not like me. So we are at the drawing board glad we never left.

I will pay for certified mail - I want the leaders at my door next month. I want RIU and MMMA there as well. I am in the middle of the state so idk? I know I will not be going to Detroit for shit.

I did look on the internet today to look for spark. I found enough spark to make a fire. We just have to gather the wood.

I also think Winter Woman that it may take a weekend of discussions. I think that in times of a sense of urgency that mistakes occur. I realize the importance of time, yet I know you cannot rush God. His will will be done one way or the other. It is our wills that get into the way of the things he calls progress.

Patience is a very strong virtue. In that it allows for strength and wisdom to build before battle. It also allows time for the enemy to reveal a weakness.

Perhaps all these crooked politicians are banging the same prostitute idk. I know patience is a virtue.
