Nope... No need to go by the trichomes, a lot of growers will harvest by these to get a desired effect... harvest clear for head... amber for couch.. cloudy for inbetween, when they should just let the plant get ripe, to its full potential. If you want a certain effect from a plant, grow a plant that exhibits that effect when ripe, sativa for head high, heavy indica for couch lock, or hybrid for inbetween. Otherwise you are just harvesting your plant at the wrong time and not getting the experience that was intended to come across in that particular strain. Harvest when ripe and you will not regret it. So you decide. chop one off now and let some go till the hairs change like i said and compare...
