I remember reading an article in High Times, (yes I know that's blasphemy), but, it was from 2008 I believe. And there was some private party out in Las Vegas where a lot of people brought their strain. And the DNA guys brought their OG Kush, before anyone had even had, I believe. Yea so, the people there smoked it and loved it, and the judges were too high to make a legitimate call on what was the best. Anyway, they go on to explain how OG isn't even Kush, they just named it that. Not only that, but they mentioned something about the origins of the real, original Kush. Anyone know about that???? I'd be curious if anyone here has had REAL kush.

Hate hate hate on the name OG Kush. EVERY place I go all I see is stupid names with OG Kush behind it. Sometimes it's good bud, most of the time just average but the price is jacked up so much past top shelf it's on its own Kush shelf. It does have a nice smell and it's alright smoke, nighttime meds only for me if its a real fucking indica though.
I am a big sativa lover and the only OG I really get down to smoking on is a real nice Headband and that's mostly for the sour d.

Not to get too technical(which I happen to do to much) but in order to be "true" Kush wouldnt you have to be able to trace the lineage back to the Hindu Kush mountains? I like it all though, sativas for the day,nice indica to knock me down at night.

your haze could be nothing but hybrids also. do you really trust seed companies and people you get stuff from 100%? i sure dont. my patients have major problems with pain. for their conditions, indicas blow the sativas out of the water. i do have a SLH though. not pure sativa but still great shit.

Was said already, a real kush comes from the Kush mountain range. However, there are vast areas in that range and many different micro climates and genetics. So the plants there range from sativa to indica and all between.
I am growing Maple Leaf Indica and Ancient Afghan. 2 Afghan cultivars that were growing in or near the Kush range and taken out of Afghanistan in the 70's. As close to kush as I am going to get. I think Master Kush is cross bred with a Skunk, not sure.

yah, i'll never understand how the term or name kush got attached to any of the "kush" strains out there today as hindu kush is truely 100% indica, and most of the kushes out there today are nowhere near that..
i do also love me some haze and some sativa high as well way more so than any indica i've yet to smoke.. something about that soaring, clear headed motivational high that gets me going.. i'm lazy enough on my own, i surely don't need no damn couchlock bud to really demotivate me..

I've been getting Humboldt O.G. Kush on a regular basis since 2005 and I can tell
you there is no other smoke like it. My friends and I have compared so called O.G.
from L.A.dispensaries for the past years and not one of them have anything close
to what I get. O.G. has a very distinct and unbelievable great taste and a high that simply obviates you for hours
after just a couple of hits. This stuff will not roll cuz it is too sticky and will not stay lit.
I've been getting mine from hippy growers that moved up to Humboldt back in '79 so they pretty
much had time to perfect there growing skills. In my circle of friends we don't call this smoke
Pure O.G. but we have always called it Death Bud for years. This bud is so strong some turn it down.
Has made 3 people throw up in the past few years. They said that they have never smoked pot so strong. After my friend makes his drop off at my place then he makes his way over to Snoop Dog's studio for another drop off.
Here in L.A. we get all kinds of buds from everywhere and out of mega strains tried and tried, not one
strain even began to compare to the pure O.G. death bud. Even friends of friends have said they have
never smoked anything like it and is by far always the best bud around period. The circle of friends has grown over the years
and still to this day out of all strains smoked from all over L.A. none compare to the Death Bud. Pure O.G.
For 6 years now, there has been only 1 kind of Death Bud and my friend it is called O.G. Kush.
For years, many people have tried to come up with pot as good as the Death Bud but none have not even once and
many have said that this bud is the best it could possibly get when it comes to pot and no other strain even begins to compare.
Some of my friends will only buy and smoke this Pure O.G. Kush and never buy any other strain no matter how good cuz
they already know it will not compare to Pure O.G. Kush. I've smoked countless types of pot here in L.A. since the mid '70's
and since then only one type of pot deserved The Death Bud moniker and lives up to it. So, unless you have smoked Pure O.G Kush
(Death Bud) that came from someone who actually knows how to grow it to perfection then you would know that no other pot even

My haze is a hybrid. It's called "Neville's Haze," and the seeds are from Mr. Nice. DIRECTLY. If you knew the guys I was taking about, you'd understand just how LEGIT the genetics are. It's old school sativa hybrid. 75% haze, 25%percent Northern Lights. And when you speak of your patients, you're talking about medicinal stuff, I'm not. I'm talking about the PSYCHADELIC, MAKE-YOU-PARANOID-OFF-ONE- HIT TYPE OF SHIT. The stuff will make you think you're hearing doorbells.
But you have my respect, if you're doing great things in Michigan, I pray for your success and your patients well fare.

AllSmilez i get the feeling that you get your smoke from some "ghetto" kid. you have to take into account that most of those people are just doing it to make a quick buck and don't know a single fact about what they have or where it came from, to them its all just "weed" and as you said they call it what they want to be able to move it. odds are, you havent smoked any kush (or at least any good kush) if your getting it from the "ghetto" kids at the "spot"
that being said, if you can get access to a med clinic or grower, OGRaskal's Fire OG, CC's Tahoe OG, were some of the best smokes ive ever tried. and i've had Nevilles haze, SSH, and other Sativa heavy ladies, and don't get me wrong, i'm a very big fan, but they each have their place.
(PS- Correct me if i'm wrong, but i was pretty certain that no actually knows the genetics of ChemDawg. If anyone claims to know, i'd love a point of reference so that i could verify the info myself. but that said, theres a very realistic chance that there's actually no kush genetics in the OG Kush Strain and OG Kush Hybrids. if there's kush in OG Kush, then there also has to be kush in Sour Diesel because they are sisters from the same ChemDawg.)

i am smoking super silver that is cloned since '97. from greenhouse back when neville was breeding for 'em.
the kind of weed that makes inexperienced smokers think it laced with something.
i know the grower... it's just psychedelic sativa grown in dirt in a real organic way.

Attitude seeds. Now let me tell you what I've GROWN in the years since:
1. Dutch Passion Blueberry, Skunk #1- loved both. The Skunk was a MOTHERFUCKING CHAMPION. It took the 103 degree Southeast weather with ease. It's a staple in my grows.
2. Greenhouse Church, AMS- this was before I learned that Arjan worked with the guys from Mr. Nice. The AMS and Church, grew great,
3. Tried some autos. I fucking hate them. They are weak and not worth the time. They might be good now, but a couple years ago they sucked.
4. DNA Sharksbreath, LA Woman, Sour Cream- I got a sativa pheno Sharksbreath, this was the best cloning plant I ever grew. It was the only plant I cloned that I just threw in a party cup and didn't take care of, and it still rocked. LA Woman was ok, Sour Cream had a unique smell.
5. Neville's Haze- WHAT CAN I SAY, ABSOLUTELY HANDS DOWN THE GREATEST SHIT I EVER SMOKED.
6. DJ Short Blueberry- Great fucking shit. Made me sit on my PS3 for hours. Made Pulp Fiction a brand new movie to me, even though I'd seen it about 20 times before.
And finally 7. I crossed a female Neville's with a male BLueberry. And I also crossed a Bluberry female with a really branchy, thin-stemmed Neville's male.
And if you read a previous post in this thread, I KNOW ALL ABOUT REAL KUSH. OG Kush is not kush, the guys from DNA say so. I know all this. Dude, I'm the last person you should be preaching to about street dealers wanting to make a quick buck. I'm privy to all that nonsense they do.
I never said I smoked kush. The point of the thread title was to get some replies, and it obviously worked. My thing, and I'm not gonna say this anymore, is that the Kush name is being used so loosely for dispensaries to make money, it just turns people off. I appreciate what you say about Cali Connection's stuff and all, but I think you mistake me for a guy that buys dime bags from high school kids. That's not the case. And all I know about Chemdawg is that the VA cut is the original. I'm a dummy when it comes to that side of things.
