due to the fuller spectrum or watts or both? not quite buying into this theory but interested n would like to understand the mechanics behind the theory...As far as the MH and HPS.
If you could run them both in there during flowering then that would be awesome and greatly increase your yield potential
agreed the wattage makes big difference but does the mh provide a light spectrum thats missing from hps? well i know it does but i mean one needed in flower? i can see 1st 2 weeks running mh to assist veg before flower show, but after that the hps spectrum should provide all the plant needs for the flower phase. that is my oppinion but i really dont know..therefore the ?Both. More wattage and light intensity in the cab. You might be going from 16K lumens to 50K lumens. Big difference.
As long as you can control the temps in the cab it should help to increase overall yield potential.
If you veg with a 400 watt and switch to 1000 watt in flower and control the temps then you will greatly increase your yield potential.
agreed, i can see the logic behind the thinking... thanks for explaining your point of viewYou are correct as well. But you can veg with HPS or MH and have healthy plants and a good yield.
So you would think that the combination of the two would only help and increase the potential of a greater yield.
They do produce different spectrums of light and the red is used more for the flowering than the blue is but the two added together will create more light intensity (lumens).
More less just the added wattage rather than a different spectrum will be the greatest benefit.
Kinda like I'm using 400 w HPS for flower but if I was to add a couple cool blue CFL's then the extra lumens would only help not hurt.
I may be wrong but that seems to be my understanding and it seems to make sense to me.
Just saying it seems to me that if possible to run 400w as opposed to 250 w would be more beneficial.
You would prefer 2 400w HPS over 1 400w HPS & 1 400w MH?It took me a second to understand the confusion. Hope we are on the same page now.
Or at least in the same book. Lol!
But I wasn't necessarily saying the combination of the two spectrums would be awesome.
Just the extra watts and lumens.
I would have said the same thing if someone had 2 HPS lights.
Anytime you can increase the intensity of light with plants it will help the plants and the yield.
I would tell them if they could get both HPS lights in there for flower then it would be awesome and help to increase yield.
During flowering yes I would think the 2 HPS would work better than 1 of each. They will both work great though. You would prefer 2 400w HPS over 1 400w HPS & 1 400w MH?
IMO I don't think of it as overkill. Just making some big budz.bluberry
at what point do you think its overkill with lights? as a hypathetical if you had a 4x8 tent what do you think would be the perf light set up? reason im asking is im thinking of setting one up with 2 600s on a rail with 3ft between them n 4ft of travel. i think it would cover this area very good. the perf in my oppinion would be 3 600s but i think the 2 on a rail will do fine. your opinion?
dat is sweet whodat!!!! ive seen a couple trying the 360 but never seen it done. anyhoo thats an awsome grow you got happening there, thanks for sharing. ill keep up with itDay 1
Day 7
Day 16
Day 22
Day 30
Day 36
and tomorrow is day 38.'
Hope you enjoy the compilation
Im running a rdwc system with lots of bubbles
They are under a 600... I wanted to fill in the screen like a 360 but the bottom got too full so I just let it ride. Im thinking I may have to add a few plants to the top section to accomplish this.. anywho, Im subbed up and will show their progress.. Long live dwc scrog!!! lol
