When should trichome production start?

Got some autoflowers on the go atm, Pineapple Express from Barney's, Super Critical from Greenhouse, and Easy Ryder from Lowryder. Growing in soil, started them under 400w dual spectrum, they now have another 400w straight hps and 125w flowering cfl. Been under 18/6 since the start. First one showed as female after 12 days, all the rest had shown by day 16. They're getting a mild dose of biobizz grow and a slightly higher dose of biobizz bloom, and have had some vintage bat guano sprinkled on the soil a few days after they'd all shown sex The plants are healthy, lush green, with multiple bud sites. Currently on day 32. The buds are really starting to come together, but so far they havn't shown any trichomes. I'm not massively experienced with growing, but have one previous auto grow under my belt (Lowlife auto ak-47) and they started producing trichs earlier than this. And the photoperiod grows ive completed all started earlier than that.

Anyone got any comments? When should trichs start showing? Does it take longer for them to appear on autos than photoperiod strains?

Answers to any of those questions will be gratefully received. Feel free to ask for any other info not included. :peace:

Hmm. Is that from the first appearance of female hairs, or the switch to 12/12? Ive done super lemon haze, cheesus, chiesel and Vanilla kush and they all started producing trichs within 2 weeks of showing female hairs (and they are all 9+ week strains).

The humidity is higher for this grow than any of the others ive done so far - I wonder if that could be a pertinent factor (as the resin production is partly to retain moisture).

Varies strain to strain and phen to pheno. But as mentioned resin production usually steps up at the midpoint of the fowering cycle. And I didnt know the had PineX out as an auto. Where did you get your beans?

Thanks for the reply dude. Appreciate the input and lack of attitude. The Barney's pineapple express is different from the one that G13 labs do I think - Barney's say its skunk+cheese+ruderalis. They've got it at attitude.

Because I don't know for autos.

Why the attitude fella? No need to call me dumb! Just that my personal experience went against your generalised comment.
it's not an attitude u asked a question I answered and u had to say something different and u knew the answer so why ask the fuckin question?and From all my experiences growing iv never had a plant that had trichs at 2 weeks flowering they barely have any hairs by then

Barneys Farm Vanilla Kush is CANNABIS CUP WINNER 2009!!** Vanilla Kush*is an*incredible new Indica-dominant strain and is one of the most fragrant, full-flavoured and potent*plants that Barneys Farm have*ever offered. Vanilla Kush genetics come from Kashmir and Afghan.* The intense aromas from large, dense colas –heavily*speckled with red and gold trichromes – bring to mind wild vanilla and lavender, accented with lemon and orange peel. Once lit, the floral and herbal aromas become more concentrated and the smoke offers sweet flavours. Vanilla Kush grows to about 55- 60cm in height indoors and takes her cannabis seeds 60-65 days to flower.* Outdoor harvest time is the end of September.* Her THC is strong of 22%.* The strong, long lasting high allows the mind to relax and eases*muscle tension.

says 60-65 days of flowering that's right off they're website

Its called discussion and is the way that we learn to understand things properly. Most people have differing opinions to varying degress on almost everything - with nobody genuinely able to claim they hold the position of truth on anything.

I repeat my previous question - When did you grow it? - Because cutting and pasting a marketing blurb designed to sell an item to an inpatient public means nothing (other than making me feel you're an attitude filled child who's pride's been hurt). I had 3 phenos, the first took 9 weeks, one took 10, and the big tall lady had to go to 11 (and that was 50/50 clear cloudy, with just a few amber).

Just because its a pure indica does not mean it will finish in 8 weeks or less. And anybody thats know anything about growing know the advertised flowering times published by the breeder is just a guide not to be followed to the letter. I have grown VKush 3 times, shortest finish was just over 9 weeks. The rest have been 10+ to finish properly.
