Outdoor Nutrients

Icculus

Well-Known Member
Hello all. I have a plant that is about 2 feet tall outdoors that i have been feeding miracle grow for a couple weeks. I was just wondering if it would be worth the money to buy some fox farm nutrients to use insted of the miracle grow. Would i see a lot more growth? Would quality be better? Thanks for the opinions:leaf:

Thats looking good, ive seen my friends plants grow very very nice with miracle grow, he used it the whole grow except for flushing. It was pretty good smoke to, and he got alot of it. Id say stick with the miracle grow, unless you really want to spend the money now..

yeah stick with you MG...
nutes are like kids everyone thinks theirs is the best.....
i wouldn't buy all that stuff for one plant...
i would use some molasses in bloom....
your plants look happy...good luck!

what kind of miracle gro do you use icculus?

Just the All Purpose stuff. It says on the box 24-8-16 i think.

Okay cool thank you and I have heard a lot about using molasses but i dont know what kind to use or where to find it. Where do you get it at?

Im actually very surprised that everyone thought it was cool to use the MG lol. Everytime i see anything on here about MG people are always bashing it.

I bought my molasses at the local Raley's (grocery store). Just make sure when you buy it, you're buying Unsulphured or Blackstrap molasses. The brand I bought was Grandma's molasses.

And make sure you switch to miracle grow bloom booster 15-30-15 im pretty sure it is, along with molasses, and If I were you, id water with epsom salt water(1tsp of epsom salts to a gallon of water) a few times throughout the grow. Last two weeks before harvest stop use of miracle grow/epsom salts/molasses and use just water.

hey man check out Schultz Rose Food 18-24-24 too.

mushroom head is right about the bloom booster. it is a better choice, you will see the plant respond/flower faster because of its higher Phosphorus content. either one works, i'm just partial to schultz because that's the one i use

I'd be very very careful about using high phosphorous fertilizers. MJ hands down needs twice the amount of potassium (K, the third number) as it does phosphorous (P, the second number).

For those of you who do not know, Mel Frank has written a good deal of grow books, the Marijuana Growers Guide, which was written with Ed Rosenthal, is probably his most popular book.

The reason for using epsom salt is to increase your mg, which is necessary during flowering. If you are just using backyard dirt then you definitely want to do this.

Molasses is most effective from week 4 - 2 weeks before harvest. It is used as a carbo-load (I think that's hyphenated?) to naturally sweeten buds. You could just use products like sugar in the raw or any other form of sucanat, subcool is amongst the group of growers who use sucanat, and he breeds/grows fucking dank.
