200w HPS, Do i need a ballast?

Right now i have a 200w CFL setup. If I wanted to replace the CFL with a 200w HPS would i need to get a ballast?

HIDs and MH MUST HAVE A BALLAST!
The bulb requires a large jolt of energy to start up, and the ballast is the thing that provides said jolt.
You can get deals on websites for both the bulbs and ballast. Look around, you'll find something.
