are you suspecting mice because you know you have some?
definitely something bigger than a bug (unless you have indoor slugs but i doubt it).

do you have a cat?

well i have seen that happen to my tomato seedlings, after 6 hours of siting there i found it was a Caterpillar they eat really fast like a whole leaf a min no jk

You guessed kitty kat. I saw one of the little furry fuckers runnin under my entertainment center once. I set poison traps but it didn't help apparently. Damn. I wish I would've remembered that they get at plants... To me it looks like girdling, but I don't really know. I thought it was way bigger than a bug too.
They only bugs I have a real issue with is fungus gnats and I know they don't do that much damage over-night if at all.

That's true.... I did find a caterpillar once in a grow a few months ago.....
I'll check for those too.

Thanks for the help peeps. Hopefully is figure it out before before I wake up to more decapitated seedlings. Not a good way to start the morningbadday.gif

yeah that sucks. maybe you and hoagy can have a consolation party (his kitty got his babies couple days ago)....

well you can cover them up with a basin for the night as you figure it out ( looks like no stonerizing till then :( lolz )

Man... I really wanted to have a lot to choose from. My luck, those are the phenos I wanted.

My cat did that exact thing to my babies once. Came back home, and the tops were gone. Some laying in the pots, some gone altogether. Damn cat lol

It not just that the tops are gone tho. If you look in the pics on the soil, those little scraps are shards of the stem. It's weird. It looks like it was peeled off. Like a hamster...or....

dude, get yourself a cat. or if you already have one, get a hunter. best way to do that is to get a kitten and only feed it twice a day. you won't be starving it, but it'll learn to supplement.

we used to have issues with rats, enter kitty, aaaahhh, no more rats. (and those bastards do structural damage. :cuss:)

our cat brings us "presents" now (<- dead things of various species). ick.
