for fuck sake, just look at the stats. such a small percentage of cancer patients...yet a whole shitload of people who just suffer "chronic pain".
just acknowledge it for what it is: a stepping stone towards legitimacy and eventual re-legalization of cannabis.
I hope it's ok to just randomly post like I am doing.. I just want in on this one a bit..
I have a bit of a unique perspective on who should and shouldn't have a card or why they might.
I just flew out of Montana a few months back.. everything is wild there.. mass hysteria, reefer madness.. it's absolutely dangerous. I was a card holder in Montana.
I come back to Oregon, and seeing that some of that same crap is going on here now too.. and it get's it's tentacles in and dig's deeper and deeper while the Feds play ambiguous games of 'will we or wont we' so they don't look soft on crime, yet the politicians don't want to go 'too deep' into busting dispensaries yet because they don't want to alienate anyone from their possible vote..
All the while the State is collecting 'protection money' (card registrations) and even raising the price 100 percent as of October to help bring in revenue, yet at the same time running around and assisting the Feds in busting those same people..
In between all of this is a few people who are trying to do more than be providers, and instead have plans to profit from the med patients as much as possible getting them licensed and helping to find growers etc etc..
Money money money, power power power.. Feds, States, some 'way too big for their britches' growers and the right wing moral crusaders, all in a swirling miasma of pointing their fingers at each other.

I think my point is, here I am a medical user.. would like to be anyway.. certainly qualified.. beyond the breast cancer (ya.. I'm a guy.. I know.. how emasculating) I also was part of an FDA study where they replaced my hips using experimental ceramic parts (that are complete mechanical failures and are crumbling and are still inside me and I literally walk on glass).
Man o man, any case study could WITNESS with their own eyes the swelling that goes down, and the absence of the radiant heat from where the skin where the prosthetic's are under when I can eat cannabis to help control it (takes about 48 hours when I haven't had any in my system for awhile).. and without it (after about 24 -48 hours) the swelling and radiant heat will come back EVERY time.. it is visible to the human eye..
Aint nobody cares.. there will be no significant research.. which takes me to my point..
The whole medical cannabis thing seems owned now by everyone BUT the medical user.. seems everyone has a huge stake in it, and the people most vulnerable and tossing up their hands (like me even) are the ones who can benefit most, and just have to take a back seat in everyone else's bus.
After my experience in Montana as a card holder and watching the State profit and then help the Feds to toss the same folks away, over and over.. and then getting my ass back to Oregon where I thought it was going to be sane (it was when I left it a few years back).. I am now convinced I will never pay protection money to the State again.. if they want to come take me away for eating some dried plant matter then I reckon there is nothing I can do about it. I'm sick, I'm sore, I'm cranky, I have worked hard my entire life, been married 30 years, 4 grown kids, paid my dues.. and everyone and everything (metaphor, I certainly don't mean anyone here for example) can just kiss my ass... take me away.. I simply don't care anymore.
Funny how far (back?) medical cannabis has came since I first was a patient.. hardly recognize it anymore.. it isn't for me, I'm too tired to keep up.

And now my little rant is over.. sorry.. felt good though.. I think I am better now.. first I bitched about the rain and weather, then got this off my chest.. *whew*
I now return you to your previously scheduled postings.. and apologize for my much needed outburst.
