So my landlord called me and informed me that they are going to come into my house and take pictures of every room for a "drug activity inspection" in a couple days. Apparently I have neighborhood watch type neighbors, I'm also being blamed for some other BS about people cars getting keyed (even though my GF's car also got keyed, lol)...

I have no plants in the house, but I do have growing equipment some weed and a several peices and some old dirt I haven't put out in the garden yet (doing that today)... I already tore down my rooms and plan on boxing everything up and putting it with the shit I never unpacked with the last move... Anything else I'm missing here?

I'm thinking about dragging a large, loud object into the middle of my street and hitting it gong style while screaming at my neighbors to mind their own fucking business when this is all done haha... I'm pretty fucking pissed.

if ur never a quaite then they cant complain , i have some next neighbors that i can alway hear shoutting and yelling and hooting, playing music, till the early morning sometimes till the next day no joke
every body hates that they do it but no one has every stopp it

i also have 2 or 3 neighbor hood watch one is across the street and when ever i go out to take the trash out or something ill be real forword to them about it, have my reggai bumbing as i come out with a lit joint
and of course they say hi so say hi back and they will smell it

If all this is going on my question is this, what kind of activity do you have going on around the house ?

I own rental properties & on most properties ive given my cell to neighbors incase the tennants are outta control, only one time in over 20 years of owning imvestment rentals has anybody called me about bad tennants, ive had homes torn the fuk down & nobody calls, homes with 6 junk cars left in the drive & no one calls, homes where i have been there working on something & saw the same group of people make multiple trips to the home to visit, obvious coke or smack dealers, still nobody calls.

In my experience as a landlord neighbors are scared shitless of renters,as long as the partys & noise are kept to a minimum their fear keeps them silent, only as a last resort will they call me.

Wtf do you have going on that makes it a last resort for the neighbors, keep in mind that neighbors will allways call the cops before a landlord as cops wont reveal tbe source of the call, meaning the cops were surely called several times before the landlord.

Your hot as well as the house.
or your roommates are..

"drug activity inspection" ?? is that even a reasonable excuse to apply for entry on your property ?? have a read through your rental agreement.. id take a request like that as a violation of my privacy, also if the landlord wants to contact you he has to go through the leasing agent first.. you, your landlord, and your agent all signed a contract stating this..

unless he has footage of you keying these cars/ a witness id tell this fool to kiss a bullet

I was able to clear myself of the keying accusations already...

My landlord gave me several days in advance to put anything away. It's part of the lease I signed that drug activity in the house warrants a 72 hour eviction notice, but they have to find something first. I yeilded to a walkthrough this time on the condition that any further "rumors" be considered baseless and ignored, my landlord agreed(he doesn't believe the accusations but feels compelled to "protect his property"). The only thing after this is all over that will let anyone in is a search warrant, and considering I've already torn down my rooms and only have a couple ounces of bud in the house I doubt I'm going to get much attention...

Every bit of percieved "drug activity" is explained away easily. I'm young and have roommates, we have lots of freinds and they come over often(we have BBQ's, parties, etc. and even when people come over to smoke they chill for 30+ minutes... rarely do I have in and outs). Any growing supplies seen being brought into the house (so dirt I guess, everything else is in brown paper bags) is explained by my backyard veggie+rose garden... In the past, I've went through great lengths to make sure noise from parties can't be heard from the street, we keep the yard mowed and clean, we dont let the dog bark all day, etc. I'm not a bad neighbor at all, really. These are houses too, not appts.

At any rate, I wont be growing for at least a few months(I actually hate summer growing indoors anyway so w/e) and I'm likely to move within the next year. I guess I'm just gonna have to lay low for a while, oh well - cheaper electricity bill!

edit: one thing working in my favor is that I've had new windows put in recently as well as my heating ducts and furnace cleaned and no one found or smelled anything at the time, because of this my landlord really does not believe any of these accusations.

Good idea to lay low for a while man, I hd a somewhat similar situation years ago.

I had a roommate get popped by game wardens for poaching. They ended up only finding soil, empty pots and some of my nutes in the basement where they were searching my rommates freezer and his other stuff. ...when they knocked they said very clearly with a smile "let us in to search the basement or we get a warrant to search the entire house (including my grow area upstairs in a bedroom), so my other roommate let them in to the basement and called me at work.

When I got home the showed me a stock and a small bucket they found in the swamp behind our house. They stock was from a male that I kept to harvest pollen from. The knew I had a grow and told me directly........they did contact the local PD but were nice enough to give me a few hours before they called. I and the house were watched for a long time and I didnt grow again for years. Small towns can be great but can also be a drag in that way. If you have bored small town cops Id take that into account and be cool for a while too man.

Well I'm in Portland so the cops have bigger fish to fry but I can't really afford sustained neighborhood watch attention, my landlord is active in the community, which is how he got wind of this in the first place I guess. To make matters worse my landlord knows my boss, who doesn't drug test but if I was evicted on the "drug activity" clause in my agreement you can bet your ass my job would be on the line pretty quick-like.

thanks for sharing your situation though, I also have a bunch of empty pots and a few bags of dirt I've gotta find a good place for haha.

edit: dirt and pots dealt with. yay!

I would plant some vegetables....when they come in be like "nothing to see here, just growing peppers and tomatoes." what can they do? he can try to evict you but would have to show what you are doing is cause a health hazard to the home if not otherwise mentioned in the lease that growing anything is not allowed.
Option 2 is remove everything that could be seen as a contributing to 'drug activity' and stay low for a few months...watch for tails

I thought about that. I just moved from a home where they did inspections every three months because when we initially moved in I planted two MMJ plants in the backyard. 6 foot tall privacy fence and the neighbors still saw the 2 foot plants. Garbage. Anyways, the landlord asked us to pull them but respected us because I am legal to grow. Obviously she didn't trust us with the frequent inspections, but I grew anyway and hid tents and everything in closets and boxes on inspection day. So many times I wanted to throw veggies in there though and see what she'd say. Glad I live somewhere I can comfortably grow now. You're gonna be fine edimame.

do this, take sum fish ;line and tie one end up on there porch and the othe end anywere els as long as its not touching anything, make sure the line is very very tight, then you take a wet rag starting at there house you take the rag wrap it around the fish line hold it really tight then take off running as fast as you can.. it will make the loudest squilling noise you will ever hear.. and the funny thing is they will come out looking for the noise and they won't even see the fish line.. do it over and over and over vagain tell you fell better..

inspection went well, lasted maybe a minute. Landlord took pictures and said he'll tell his whistleblower it looks like he cried wolf. I'm not going to be growing for a few months anyway at the very least, but I told my landlord that now that this is over I can't tolerate repeated intrusions on my privacy and I'll just move asap if shit continues(lease is almost up and moving to a month to month basis soon), my landlord seems to be on the same page at least... I doubt I'll be bugged about this any more.

whew!

what about the key-ing incident???
My car got keyed that night too so that accusation really helped the case that my neighbor was crying wolf more than anything... As soon as my landlord said something I took him out and showed him my car and was like, "why would I key my own shit?"
glad things went smooth 4u..
Thanks, I'm glad too... Now to think about moving in 6-10 months or so, maybe I'll get some less shitty neighbors!

One bad thing did happen though, my cat ate the leaves off of the only JTR clone I saved... DOH!

sounds like you need to get the eff out of dodge mame.. if those people have gotten your home owner involved once, i wouldn't expect it to end there tbh.. maybe next time they won't call the home owner, but rather the popo, and that isn't going to give you three days to get the place spot check proof first i'm sure..
that really sucks, i hate having neighbors, but at least mine haven't pulled any shit like that on me..
