How long til chop?

ok, the trichs are cloudy, but no signs of amber yet. This is about week 7 on an auto flower(of flowering), it's a nirvana NL. Really surprised at the weight it's got on it, it started flowering at 14 days. I just swapped it to 12/12 to try and hurry the finish. I'm thinking about a week, any other suggestions? The other one I had started a week earlier and flowered faster, and was pretty heady. This one was slower but it's pretty much all bud, barely any leaves left other than the ones on the buds. Good smoke, not great, it didn't really frost out at all. I've got an auto bubblegum that looks like someone dumped sugar on it and it's only in week 3.

Yeah i'd say at least another week.
But personally i like to harvest around half amber at least. So if you flush for two weeks start when you see about 15% amber at least.
Of course it's all preference though.
What kind of high are you aiming for?

Good looking grow dude! Plant looks like its coming along great but I wouldn't cut it until you see amber, for 50% I'd say you prob have about 2-2 1/2 weeks left

Best of luck :bigjoint:

Thanks, I'm surprised it's put so many buds out as an auto. It's sister was done about 2 weeks ago now, is already dried and curing, with a tiny yield, I'm gonna flush it this weekend and go from there.

Interesting note I used the moisture miracle grow soil vs fox farms ocean forest on the other one, the other finished a lot faster but this one is definately packing on the weight.

Ok so it's been a week and I'm still seeing very littel amber, but most of the fan leaves have died. It's basically looking like it's living off stored food. Should I keep waiting? I chopped one of the side branches because it basically fell over under it's own weight but I'm thinking wednesday night if it's still not showing I'm just gonna go ahead and chop it.

keep going until amber... you should stake and or string the buds so they dont fall over and break... any new pics? looking at the old pics you needed another 2-3 weeks and only a week has gone by so im sure there not fully rdy yet!!! looks great though

See the leaves have pretty much had it. For an auto I think it's rather old, about 3 1/2 months, I previously said 7 weeks flowering, but it's actually closer to 10. The trichs are starting to amber, I just don't want the whole plant to just die while I'm waiting. You can really see the difference in a week, I flushed it and it pretty much gave up after that from the looks of it. Either way, the sister plant gave really heady nuggets but a small amount, and these smell and look better, so I'm pretty happy with it even though it's taking longer, this is by far the highest yield I've had on an auto. ( I did already trim 2 branches because the leaves had totally died and I wanted a comparison with only a small amount of amber cuz I'll be growing this strain again)

It's a northern lights auto from nirvana via attitude. The first pics I posted were about a week old, I started looking closer at it with the 100x and it was about 15-20% on the lowers and 20-30 on the uppers with those last pics. I learned a lot about autos on this grow, it was my first with them. I had 4 seeds germed (1 I kept for later possible breeding). One of them I killed by accident, one of them I tried to grow outside for fun, then we hit a month and a half no rain and the soil sucked so I said screw it it was stumpy anyway. The other 2 one grew like a normal auto, thick mid cola, lil side branches, flowered and amber trich'd and done in 70 days. This one however just kept growing, started flowering late (I'd say around day 30) and just kept blooming. If I had known it was gonna get so big I might have tried lst. What I've read on the nirvana autos is they still aren't very stablized so if you get them be prepared to possibly have to go 12/12 anyway at some point. I was 18/6 on this one til about the last 2 weeks (I had an exodus cheese and a blue widow in there too) so it ended on 12/12. I have to say though, for an auto, after drying and curing, the first one was a pretty damn good smoke, the kind where one bowl and you just wanna have a beer and watch tv and relax, but you're not totally head trip but not so body heavy you're locked. Wet chopped ended up filling 3/4 of a large tomato sauce jar so I'd say it was a pretty productive auto, even if it was a late bloomer. Final Yield pre drying and curing: er.jpg (still a lil trim work to do)
