[CFL] Lemon Skunk! [Clone]

I had an over watering issue with mine so that's why they're off to a late start. Yours might be able to finish in 8 weeks if you don't have any snags. I won't be so fortunate...

Ouch, that sucks!
I start my girls out slow and ramp up. My big bagseed is at 120% bloomfood.
I'm going to 140% with the next gallon of feed I make.

Sick, I'm going to look up the different pheno's later today and try to identify what I and/or you have.
My buddy pulls 3oz per 1 gallon pot.
He uses HID's like you so you'll probably get close to this.
I use CFL's for the time being so I'm hoping to get around an ounce out of a 5g bucket.

Mine digs the food every time, and I let some wash out the bottom into my toilet to 'flush' her out.
I just mix up the food with water and feed it to her whenever she needs water.

this is a lemon skunk done 12-12 from seed........really fantastic smoke.hope yours go as well as mine.......hope you dont mind the pics.......

Jeebus. I never looked up the phenos last night..
You're the one that pulled that gigantic nug sitting in a bottle next to your volcano.
Maybe it was that very nug?
What was your setup?
I'm curious as to how you pull such fat christmas trees.

Hey guys, check out my bagseed journal too, she's at Day 39 flowering, almost to the home stretch.

Oh I see. And you run one at a time?

Day 16 Vegetative; Xena!
She looked a little thirsty so I pulled her out to have a good look at her, give her a haircut, and feed her.

The very lowest branch is having trouble catching up with the other 5 tops, but things are really close.
By the time she goes into flower I'll have it perfect.
The top branch is a little higher than the rest, but I'll keep holding it down until they catch up.
It's going to look like a flat top bush bonsai thing when I'm done with it.

I'll get pictures tonight, after my bagseed wakes up.
The skunk is getting super fat, It's going to be a very wide little bonsai bush.

I'm still cutting off all trimary (Is this the right word?) branches as they appear, leaving only fat secondary tops.
Eventually I'll stop cutting off budsites, and let her explode right before flower.

And I still feed her at full dose, and flush some excess down the toilet.
No burn yet, these could be some thirsty girls.

Maybe.
She has good hope, I have a 40w 5000k right above the main cola.
And a 14w 2700k pointed right at the side of the main cola to help it plump up.

This is going to be my first successful harvest.
My first harvest was like 4g-5g of some airy weak buds. The thing flowered for like 3 months and that's all I got. That was before I knew about light intensity, and had my 40w CFL about 12"-16" away HAHAHA.

This grow I'm starting to get everything down to a science.

Oh and something horrible happened last night..
I went to check on Xena at about 2am, and one of her tops got strangled by my LST job being too tight.
It supercropped itself..
And then in the process of me trying to support it, it fell off completely.
So I have it trying to root with my other clone now, I don't want to waste it.
So the L.Skunk is destined to have 5 even bigger tops now, instead of 6!

I think I'm going to give her a Dollar Tree Hat.
Actually, I have money, and nothing to do, and it's a beautiful sunny blue sky PNW day!

The top that I knocked off had one last branch site under the cut, almost like a last chance for that branch to live.
I think I'm going to cut off the last branchsite, and let that branch live until it's fan leaves get covered.
Then I'll chop it, and I guess I could stick it into a rooting pellet, but it wouldn't be able to grow, it would have to start a new shoot from the root base, like a garden weed or an old rose. I'll probably, actually definately just make a damn good cup of tea out of it instead.
Sad morning for Xena, but she'll come back.

Oh it was horrible honestly.
Hahahaha it was pretty effin' dark.
OH FUCK YOU I JUST READ THAT.
Fucking karma.
FUCK.

This was a little baby clone, not strong enough and fibrous like that.
It just snapped.

I already told you about as close as it gets.
Look up Stoneyluv's CFL "Thursday Night Chopdown"
I make tea out of most of the plants I have to sacrifice.
It's been a mild day, hope it's headed your way!

Day 17 Vegetative; Xena!
Well I went in and cut off that last budsite, so the damaged branch has no form of growth. It is just a stem full of leaves to feed the other tops.
The branch only has about 3 or 4 leaves, so I will just cut one off every several days starting at the bottom, and cut the whole thing off eventually.
This way I won't shock her.

She has 5 beautiful tops, I wish I had enough lights to give her what she wants.
She's out of room under my little 14w..
She needs about a 30w 6500k or something like that..
I'm working on it.

Short update I guess, can't think of much else.
Day 13/17 comparison of Canopy.

The top that I broke off, let's hope for roots!
D17 New Clone.jpg
Here's the body shot, I don't like this shot with the flash, looks gloomy.
D17 Side.jpg

Seems the leaves are looking less skinny.
And I personally think it looks way better in my care then when I got it.

I'll shoot an update tonight, she's on day 20 Veg.
About two weeks left guys.
Check out my Fruit Hair journal too, Day 43 Flowering over there, and needs some love!

Day 20 Vegetative; Xena!
The very lowest branch assumed Apical Dominance, and I'm struggling to even out the canopy.
Losing that 6th branch really messed up my plans, but we'll pull through.
I went to the $Tree and couldn't find the stupid plant basket to use as a Scrog..
I'll have to find somethin' else fast.

subbed, I love to watch a good Lemon Skunk grow. The different phenotypes around are what makes this plant nice to watch, you just never know what your going to get.

Mine were at least 2x - 3x bigger after the switch and before the finally stopped stretching, but the nice lemony smell they have early in flower is worth it.:leaf:

Great to have you on board, so far in my studies on Lemon Skunk I've read that;

I've heard of a
Heavy Yielding pheno,
Low Yielding Pheno,
Indica Dominant Pheno,
Sativa Dominant Pheno,
And I'm sure these go together, so I'll figure out which traits are which pheno later.

The owner of the clone I recieved pulls 3oz / 1g bucket.
So it sounds like I have a Heavy Yielding Sativa Dominant.

I'll do some more reading and fix up the holes in this post.

Very nice run-down indeed of what Lemon Skunk growers can expect!

I do believe I have a indica dominant strain but looking at where it is in 20 days of flower she will most likely be the low yielding strain, but with my limited knowledge I hopefully am wrong.

Mine definitely sound like the DNA genetics but who really knows... They're on day 23 of flower and way behind my cheese and kush ladies. The best part about them is their super skunky smell. That might be my favorite smell of all time. I want to jam the little buds up my nose and have that be the only thing I ever smell for the rest of my life! bwahahaha

I'm with you ru4r34l with thinking I have the low yielder as well. Only thing is that I may get a little more than expected with all the supercropping and training I did. I plan to post some good pics of my ladies in my journal tonight, stay tuned!https://www.rollitup.org/members/ru4r34l-340606.html

It's pretty hard to read but definately.
Remember that plants like to swell a lot during the last week or two of flower.
This is where she will pack on those pounds. (Oh I wish.. more like grams but still:leaf:)
20 days doesn't look like much at all on most strains.
You will really start noticing things between 25-40 days.

Is yours stretchy? Sounds like a hard hitter for sure.
I'll be there bro, I'm posting updates right now actually.

Day 21 Vegetative; Xena!
Her lowest branch stretched into the light and burned a little, nothing I'm worried about. I like my CFLs to be CLOSE.
Since I lost that 6th branch, all her branches tend to form a ring just outside of my useable light..
It has me in a jam.
I might wind up tying all branches inward instead of outward.
Still pondering.

I poked her LST stakes down further, and got all branches even again. So that's a victory.
I haven't seen her this morning, I'll go check her out in a little.

The first clone, from when I topped her, has rooted!
I put it in a 3" plastic flowerpot, and stuck her in the windowsill area where she won't get much light.
It's the only way I can keep it alive.

I have one more Lemon Skunk clone rooting, from when I knocked off the 6th branch. This should take several more days.
And I picked up a White Widow clone, it came from my buddies Nirvana Seeds plant.
If it lives more than a week (It's a very small, weak clone) I'll start a journal. So keep peeled for that as well.

I need to buy dirt, and transplant Xena today.
Also now that I think about it, I will be naming the next Clone today as well. And she will become part of these updates.
