How did "YOU" build your hydroponics system??

here is a fairley simple diy undercurrent system i built for about $100.00. very adaptable to area or plant count. pics are mostly self explanitory on the build. if you need any other info post on my journal n ill be glad to help.
edit: cost did not include air pump tubing n air stones, just what you see.

some nice designs here, I started with totes and sprayers and proper plumbing, they worked very well but I grew tired of individual rez's. then I went to igloo coolers in a sort of aero/dwc type deal. then I turned the igloo into a aeroflo ripoff rez.....yesterday I went and bout a CAP monster ebb and am done with this bullshit, this should suffice, and if not fuck it , I give up.

I'm done with diy although I did design some very working units, I'm sticking with ready to grow straight out the box.

as a plumber i have many yrs of exp.n know what will n wont work. this unit was like 1200 bucks on line. ive got about a hundred n works perf. if your not familiar with plumbing n the like i would advise buying too.lit safer that way...

oh I'm plenty familiar with lots of things but I'm just growing tired of designing and building different types of systems, always looking for s better way to do sometihng but in the end most of the results are the same no matter what system as long as it meets a certain criteria .

know the feelng, i just wanted easy, no more luging buckets n shiz. the undercurrent system fits my bill just right.very versatile, can adapt to any size room or no of plants.

yeah I like deep water and was experimenting with rdwc but had some issues come up with level in differnt size sites and stuff, I think the monster ebb is fitting for me

i would recommend an air pump for that system. theres no spot in there to get any O2. personally, id do one big air pump with lines splitters so that each bucket has an air line and air stones.

also i think u may need an anti siphoning valve on the upper portion of the tubes connected to the water pump(the intake)

luger187 i agree its a must to have plenty of air in these systems. its not shown but iv a 40lpm dual diaphram pump with a 4 valve manifold for the unit. i will hook up 2-6" stones to aech of 3 n 1 on the leftover for the res. no chance of inadiquate ox saturation with that much ox being introduced. thanks for the heads up, sometimes i forget to say all n just assume.
as for the anti siphoning valve, all of them are on the same level n same hight/vollume therefore no need. if it were a larger res or higher it would be essential to prevent the eventual flood

proly cause you know how important they are on a higher/bigger res. did you know flood damage is the #1 homeowner insurance claim in america? heck we all smoke here

im glad you brought that up, very important, actually ecential pc oe equipment if neefed. thanks for the reminder...we all need a tune up once n a while

Im currently in the process of switching over to hydro as well and am recreating a drip system i seen on an Instructional video called I Grow Chronic , the guy in the vid shows how to make a drip system and a ebb and flow system for as cheap as possible its unbelievably easy , the video actually shows how to make a hydroponic perpetual garden that is amazingly cheap and effective the video can actually be found at many hydroponic stores OR you can watch the full movie at this link http://www.sockshare.com/file/DC5C36DA717F2CE0# the link is 100% safe and reliable and everyone ive watched this movie with is blown away by how easy and effective the systems are, Do not miss this film.
The only difference from the video is i will be adding an aerator pump with airstone to keep the water highly oxygenated for about $10 extra.

for my next one im just gunna run a drip system, run to waste. i got a 4x4 botanicare tray, 20ft of tubing, drip fittings, and micro tubing. cut your tubing into desired lenth and where you want to split it. after that make small wholes into the main tubing and insert your fittings for your 1/4in tubing. i ran two drip lines to each 8in cube to ensure no air pockets. connect my tubing to the pump and drop it in my 25gal of nutes and water about once week or more if they need it
