"Miracle-Gro want's into the pot trade"

I also think it is too early to judge this move. They just might come out with the best thing ever to help growers; only time will tell. If they come out with a low cost effective product I think they will have lots of people using their products. Look at all the people on this site in the DIY section making the most out of their available funds. If they produce a good product for a low price they will not be able to keep the stuff in stock.

At the end of the day I think people who spend real money in this market will continue to avoid MG.
Yes, there will be lots of folks that stick with the stuff from hydro shops, but I firmly believe that lots and lots of folks will snatch MG off the shelves. Sorta like buying a grow system and making a grow system. Another reason is because they will most likely make it super convenient to buy (hardware stores, home improvement stores, etc.).

I use MG and its not that bad, i like to switch up the fertilizers so the plants don't get used to just one thing. I use only organic during flower no MG!

Contrary to popular opinion, one can grow weed quite well with MG. It will taste like crap, and there would be problems, but it's doable and affordable. I'd say more than half of all new growers (here in the US anyway) find themselves at some point looking at or buying a Miracle Gro product initially. I'm not saying it's the best way to go by any means, but it WILL give a newbie a first couple of grows. It just can't be used at their recommended strengths. I'm sure that otherwise good growers have been discouraged to grow weed because of going by the directions on the bottle,.
That being said, it WAS bad form to quote someone from, and refer to, this forum, as if the powers that be needed any help. Just my 2 pennies.
They'll have to advertize the MJ formulations in states that have Med pot. If they advertise in a state where pot is not even quasi-legal, I think they'd face conspiracy charges. I'm being told that even telling someone how to grow MJ can be construed as conspiracy, at least where I live. Go Figure!!!
The addition of Miracle Gro to the research pool could be a good thing for the continuing study of our favorite herb. IF they actually devote capital in that arena. I'd support it.

Oh dear god...really?

Miracle Gro is AWFUL for grows. really, truly, it' s the Wal-Mart way of growing, and that's just bad news for the rest of us who care.

I have to wonder whether MJ growing will just become like everything else, shipped off to some country that's cheap and filled with kid workers. That would be a damn shame.

Folks, the reason why we come to RIU is beacuse we're lookign to become the best growers possible...and that means we need to stand up for the higher quality nutes and not just settle for the crap that is the lowest in price.

Because if people start doing that, then there's no reason for places to continue to make the best possible nutrients.

The reason why MG has a bad rap especially in RUI is because noobs are inclined to grab any soil they get their hands typically MG is found in most stores. They encounter problems and state that they're using MG in their threads and the experienced would have a knee jerk reaction. Monsanto whatever! waaa! waaaa! waa! This is a grow site not an activist bandwagon, save that for the politic threads. I've used MG with great success on my first subsequent indoor growing. There's a lot of great grows with MG logged in this site. Miracle Grow probably has more paid researchers and funds than all cannabis specific companies combined. Alot of good can come from this if they go cannabis.

I imagine the scientist's at Monsanto are diligently working on "Roundup Ready" genetically engineered Kush seeds!

This is why I won't buy MG/Scotts/Roundup, because they are Monsanto owned companies...Monsanto- if ya don't know look them up..an absolutely horrible company that has litle to no regard for human life

The miracle grow/scotts guys must be trolling riu.
I'd say that what is happening now is what we thought would happen back in the late 60's. The kids who smoked are now coming into power. I doubt that some 60+ y/o in the corporate structure decided one day to start trolling the pot growing forums. I could be wrong tho......

Round my area miracle grow already have good soils with no time release nutes for fruit and veg. Been seeing them over the year and knew miracle grow was expanding to not necessarialy pot but to produce soils to rival other manufacturers.

Personally i liked miracle grow for their brandidng till i read this thread. peace

It is just another brand of nutriments, it would be nice to just come together as a whole, stop the corporatism and put out a solid product that is beatifically positive in all ways to the plant that we all enjoy and appreciate. no more chemicals and unnatural additives.

Used MG's Moisture control for several grows.
Just pleased as punch with it too. Just NOT straight from bag to pot though.

I agree I've grown in MG soil and it's not that bad like people say, you just gotta know how to grow.

Yeah, Monsanto is the worst of the worst. Read up on GMO food, and how it was created by the FDA when they discovered a bacteria that had the ability to grow in toxic conditions. They extracted this gene and added it to the dna of out food we eat. Now our food survives and grows with pesticide within it, instead of it being sprayed.
Monsanto flys bubble helicopters over farms crops, dumps roundup and comes back a few days later... if their crop died from the roundup, they sue the farmer for saving organic seeds and not using Monsanto.
On the flipside if an organic farmer is growing organic foods.... and a monsanto seed blows into their farm from a neighboring farm that isnt organic, they sue those farmers too.
There is tons of stuff on them, like I said they are the worst of the worst. Also look up fluoride in the water. Fluoride is used in most rat poisons btw. It's in the drinking water and it kills you.

The truth of it all goes back to the nwo and their methodical collapse of the monetary system, food and agriculture industry, and every other freedom and liberty we have.

As far as miracle grow.. I would never support something like that, never.

I wanted to add this. In that link/story, you can see the helicopters they use. And also when I say sue the farmers, they bankrupt the farmers in legal fees.

DO NOT FEED NUTRIENT ENRICHED SOIL!!!!...............That's the problem that people experience when using MG. They want to over fert! MG slow feeding soil, water, and molasses. All u need.
