Venting a 600w HPS indoors?

So if i were to have an air cooled HPS light and pull cool air from my bedroom, and then venting it into my bedroom would it get really hot in the bedroom/push my bill higher because im basically running a "heater"???

Does anyone have a 400/600HPS cab that vents just into the bedroom/room???

my flower room, is a room inside a room...i was dumping my air from my flower room back into the "main" room, and it made my temps go through the roof...essentially like u said, that 600watter is a heater and ur fan is the blower...like i said, i had problems with temps doing it that way and i grow in a basement...try to get the air outside somehow...thats what i did...

Vent that shit outside. It's the only way. Put it this way. I'm running 7 600's and in the winter shunt the exhaust into my heating ducts. I live in a 2600 sq ft house with no insulation in the walls and it keeps the whole house toasty.

yeah i have it hooked up to the dryer vent...now i dont know ur situation, but i live in the country and im cautious, but i can have a lil whiff of bud floating around from time to time....if ur in an urban area, u prob wanna go super stealth and mask ur smells fairly well..remember that ur dumping that funky skunky smell along with that heat to anyone passing by....keep that in mind

Yes i would be in an urban area, i plan on scrubbing anything through a carbon filter before i vent. Unfortunately my dryer vent isnt near where i will be growing so unless i can cut some holes in the drywall ill probably have to find a return air vent in my room or go through the window.

Only downside with that is im on the ground floor so im slightly worried about security if my window was always open :/

yeah...i agree..ground floor is def risky...is there anyway you can install a vent through your wall??

Help is at hand ... I run a selection of 250, 400, and 600 watt Hps in my stealth cab .. I get away with running the 250 and 400 by both drawing air in and venting it out in the same room, and have an osilating fan in the room my grow-cabs in, I also leave a few windows on the latch..

However whilst running the 600 temps climb insanely high very quickly, so I came up with the idea, of both using the 600 during the Winter months only and running the 600 setup from 7pm onwards (at night - To make use of the cold temps, and cheaper rates of Electric) I also fed 6" Ducting through my ceiling into my roof... But I did not choose to expel my hot air(exhaust) up there, (Leaving a big steamy heat signature), it made more sense to pull cold air in from the roof and expel into my house.. I turn all the heating off and allow my 600 to do its work... I get lovely plants and my house stays plenty warm..Killing two birds with one stone, and theoretically I cut out my Winter central heating bill ... AC is another option I am currently looking into, as well as RES. Coolers, Anyhow hope that jelps a bit dude - STELTHY

just put a window fan in... run your lights at night like 8pm-whenever. Have the fan blowing cool air into your room. and as far as the window goes, put a couple screws above the window to prevent anyone from opening the window.

If you are running a high wattage grow light you can have it so that it turns on when the day is getting cooler and vent it out side or you can do what I would do is to make a box system where it takes the hot air, mixes it with cold air then vent it out side or into another room.

I vent my 1000 watt into my attic. still about 4 degrees warmer in the entire upstairs of my house when the lights are on... working on a solution

just vent it outside using ur exsisting dryer hole and maybe in the winter vent it somewhere else in ur house to save heating cost unless u live in cali

You're on ground floor so venting into the attic is out of the question. Do you have a fart fan in your bathroom? Many multi-family dwellings have bathroom fans ducted into an existing exhaust vent on the roof or out a wall. If you have one, you can tie into that. Did it once in an apartment grow...worked great! The other option is to vent into the main living space and then figure out the best way to exhaust the heat from the living space. Remember, it's not just getting rid of heat you need. You also need a fresh air supply to your plants for CO2.

It will get warmer , as its pumping the hot air into your room , if it's only 1 light shouldnt be to bad.

Ofc your bill wil be higher as you are running your light. Lights are much cheaper than heaters to run tho, so it's all good. Come winter you could have "free" heating ^^

By outside , do you mean out the house?

Personally I would advice against venting your hot ait out of the house, room to room seams the safest option imo.

Cheap heating as a added bonus. Suppose depends where you live I guess.
