Debt is not as big an issue when employment is 5% as it is when it is 10%. Also when the gdp is falling by over 6% in consecutive quarters the debt starts to look a little more serious. Our economy was in a completely different state 6 years ago. This is a stupid argument. i went through about 50 pages last night and found jack shit. the debt ceiling was raised at least once, maybe twice. it never came up.
