Grow tent ..yey or ney?

tent is pretty useless in that respect. assuming u r using hps? i have a 1.2*1.2*2.0 with a 600 hps and i have to leave it open while lights on. gets wayyy 2 hot. so to put them in darkness i had 2 be there every 12 hrs to open an close it. so ive just blacked the room out now so i dnt have to get up at 6 in the morn ha ha. like i said pretty pointless and certainly doesnt stop the smell my friend.

if you have and exhaust fan with carbon scrubber it stops the smell and cools your light if you have a air cooled hood having neither of these will make the tent pointless

it sounds like you dont have proper ventilation.

i have both carbon filter and 5inch inline and it still gets hot in there. i need a cool tube!!! the blueberry strain i grew last stunk no matter what i did ha ha. i even had the tubs of gel lying around, still smelt like bob marleys pocket!! ok let me say that again, the tent is useless in the sense of the money spent on a tent could be used to mylar and dark proof the room with the results. maybe bit cheaper!! i spent £170 on mine an wished id kitted it out myself:peace:

hey resinous only my 2nd grow so still learning. the only thing i havnt got it temp control on my intake. my extraction goes up to the loft and i draw fresh air from outside through a 5inch intake. i have a 12inch fan working in the room and a small clip on inside the tent, i keep it at arund 81 light period and 68 dark. my ventilation is maybe abit too good because i have r\h of 33. but i have no choice to have my extraction on 24\7 due to the heat. Any ideas? ta:peace:

You guys all have good thoughts, except for the guy with the oven sized tent. I do plan to get the vented hoods,inline fan, charcoal filter. Ill be adding fans and even a small swamp cooler if I have to. Tent I see is 4x8x7. Mostly decided to go with a tent because it looks more like a storage shed, and the garage works best in my position.
Also found a dimmable ballast 1000 watt, vented hood, timer, hanger, metal n hps bulbs for 329.00. Im thinming of going with this set up because I can turn doen the ballast during veg.

aw man if we could all have them in the uk there wouldnt have been no riots ha ha:fire:. i wish i could have a setup that big man, we gotta be stealthy in the uk. get greedy and the 5.0 cum take the lot. not worth losing all the equipment

YEY!!! tents are the best. i weas doing a 10x10 room, poly on the walls,2000w,12000 btu a/c, ebb&gro with 24 buckets. then had to move to an apartment. now i use a 5x5 tent, 1000w air cooled hood,ebb&gro with 14 sites, a/c in tent as well as my carbon filter. temp control is way better and i can put the brain and res of the ebb&gro outside the tent. no more smelly water from it being in the room and heating up. and the plants are loving it.

know what ya mean dude i'm in uk, just started first grow baught a 2x2 secret jardin but knew it wouldnt be big enough for the 4 i intend on growing so buying a 4x4 tent end of this month along with 600 watt hps, at the min got a mother in the 2x2 vegging will take a few clones and put the mother in flowering and the clones in shortly after
