hey all, I have my buds drying about 2.5 days now, my temps are 60-65 degrees F, and my RH is between 55-60%, i know that my RH might be a little higher then it should, but on my last dry, it was lower and my buds def dried to quick....so I wanted to raise it a bit and see if it helps, I also know that I have to watch out for mold, which I inspect them every few hours....so my question is, is it normal for the bud to be kinda crispy on the outside but def still moist on the inside at 2.5 days in? If i squeeze the buds you can def feel moisture and when you touch the stems you can def feel that their still wet.....Im just concerned that they are drying too fast.....If anyone can share their info, much appreciated, Thanks

No i think they are doing just fine...it usually takes about a week to dry them but thats if your going to cure them too.......are you planning on curing them?

Just don't let them dry too much! I have had buds go from dry on the outside to completely dry over night. I live in a fairly dry climate so it seems I never end up drying for more than 3-4 days anyways. I like to start my cure with the stems still a little bit bendy, if when I am burping the jars the buds seem a little too wet I will dump them out for a bit, then back and so on. I keep some fan leaves from my harvest just in case I over dry a bit, throw them in the jar and the buds will suck the moisture right out of em. Good luck.

Do you still get good results with only drying for 3-4 days? i ask because from what ive read it sounds like the minimum amount of days you should dry for is 7, but I know everyone has different methods....I just raised my humidity a bit more, so now its like 62%, and the temp is around 60 F. hopefully I can extend the drying period a few more days without having them dry out completely.... but If by any chance tomorrow my buds feel just about ready, should i avoid over drying and jar them?

I get great results! As long as you are not speed drying them you will be fine, its all in the curing process. If you are able to dry for more time then that is great, but like I said, I choose to start my cure a little earlier and as long as I get a good cure my weed is ten times better than anything I can buy flavory and potency wise.

You're fine. Take your biggest nug and squeeze it hard. You hear a nice crack/crunch from the main stem, it's cure time.

I have followed this method as described by DJ Short in an article on curing.

It works.

Put them into jars and throw a hygrometer in there. Don't guess. If the RH inside the jar rises to over 70% in a few hours dump the buds out and dry em for another day. Here are instructions for proper curing.

the RH inside the jars read 73%, so I took the buds out and layed them on a screen and put back into my drying room, tomorrow, i'll re jar them, Thanks for the help!!!

dry the buds till there a little crunchy on the outside but not dried all the way through and the stems will still bend without snapping they may crack though when u bend em n then u throw them in your jars and burp them like twice a day if ur having problems with them drying to fast u could put the buds in paper bags the ideal time to dry bud is 7 days atleast by then all the chlorphyll as degraded so it wont taste shitty
