The top 49% pay so much taxes that the bottom 51% pay NO Federal income tax, I'd say that's imbalanced enough. If that doesn't compute for you, then you're beyond help. If taxes are so great, why is my state being flooded with Dems from NY and Boston? In my neighborhood alone, about 40% of the new homes have been bought by relocated NY'ers and to a person they say the reason they moved here was to escape the high taxes. I doubt they will, but I hope they change their voting habits that got them into the trouble in the first place.

Yes and the top 1% control 42% of the wealth.

Why do the top .5% only pay 15% tax vs 25% tax on somebody making $40,000?

THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED AS A DEMOCRACY. it's not MOB rule, it's how this country functions.

democracy is about the majority making the choices which are best for everybody, not about a minority making the choices which are best for themselves.

stop trying to turn this country into something it's not.

i read this 3 and 4 times. its still hilarious.

"its not mob rule, its whoever has the most votes that rules"

nice job.....dumb ass.

Paying taxes is American. Learn to sacrifice I thought that was what being an American was about.

We'll all be giving away 100% of our wealth when we die, minus one suit. Unless you're going to screw your family and pile it up in your coffin. My family will inherit whatever wealth I still have at the time of my passing.

Warren Buffet can do whatever he wants to do with his money...it's his after all. But his choice should in no way compel others to do the same with their wealth. Sadly, for the agenda of the walking, talking colostomy bags that make up the majority of liberal Democrats, they haven't taken that right away from us entirely. Personal property, it's one of the few things the government SHOULD be protecting.

And yet its Conservative Politicians with the supreme court backing them up taking property under eminent domain

Really, that's news to me. I would say it's Progressive politicians, both R's and D's that make that case. Please, enlighten me on which "Conservative" politicians you're referring to. Some examples would be nice too.

Look into retard Governor PARRY (nod to Colbert) from Texas and all the property he has taken for the Mexican ..errrrr.... Texas road to nowhere except taking US truck driving jobs.

*Another thing for you to legit bitch about. Most people don't know that when they buy a home, especially in the western states, that you do not get mineral or water rights in most cases. The big oil companies can come knock on your door and let you know they are here to drill in your yard. water is the same way. This happens more often than many people know.

the US lies just below the Ivory Coast and just above Uruguay in income disparity between the rich and the poor.
You show your true intentions when you say things like this. With your mindset it is more about equality of the outcome, and not equal treatment under the law.

Do you think the rich and poor behave differently because of the difference in incomes, or that their incomes are different because they behave differently?

IT'S TIME FOR THE RICH TO START PAYING UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Start? They've been paying up dispropotionally since the inception of the income tax. Never has the income tax system had a flat rate that applies to all people. Commrade Marx would have been proud...

You people make me sick. Tell me whats wrong with making the rich pay more taxes.
They pay more, not only in raw dollars, but also as a percentage of income.

About 30% of my check goes to taxes. The super rich pays about 15% from their checks.
Those numbers are misleading... The rich pay a higher percentage of income if it is earned (pay earned from a salary, hourly, etc... earned by performing a job) The 15% number you have been told is the tax rate on capital gains, which you would pay the same tax rate on if you have non-retirement investments. The money that is used to earn investment income has been taxed already at the higher rates.

Whats fair about that. I have to live from paycheck to paycheck. 99% of the rich don't know whats thats like.
What fair about taking claim to 35% of one person's life, while taking claim to only 10% of someone elses?

You think that 99% of the rich were born with that income? Mark Cuban lived on his friend's couch while he was building broadcast.com. Chris Gardner lived in homeless shelters, working for free, while raising a child before he became a millionaire. Andrew Carnegie worked 72 hour weeks at a cotton mill before he thought up of the blast furnace. Oprah Winfrey wore potato sack dresses growing up. Not all the rich started poor, but most of them had been at one time or another.

It also pisses me off when u call people on unemployment lazy. They had to work at one time to quallify for it.
Just being on unemployment isn't lazy, but staying on it for 99 weeks is... There are areas in the country where unemployment is very low (I work in one), all you have to do is move. The company I work for is having a hell of a time finding qualified people. They can also take a lower paying job - I've had to do it before. With this in mind, laziness might not be the correct word... I'm thinking more along the lines of pride in most cases.
