routes I have with 15,000-20,000 in possible investments

B.S. aside please. What are some routes/idea you guys have that a novice/experienced grower from a much 'less cool' medical state have in making it in California. I hve two possible family investors willing to help out. Renting seems risky with landlords and electric, my amount doesnt seem sufficient for purchasing- unless land contracts with 10,00 down is an option, doubt it. Also, I dont know much about renting warehouse/office space for this? Any ideas or suggestion guys? Not trying to start big, just medium large- 5-6 LBS a month, get my foot in the door locally and get started. Thanks for any positive words of advice, even positive criticism!

The old saying "Don't quit your day job" is the very first piece of advice I would give to anyone considering moving out here to be a grower. By that, I mean have a job that pays enough to live on out here lined up long before you go and rent that U-Haul.

Everybody is growing, it's extremely competitive, and without some other source of income to fall back on, you're setting yourself up for ruin.

The one and only thing the clubs ever run out of is clones. There's a reason for that.

DSM- thanks for the response, you have replied to a few of my inquiries in a straight forward realistic way (although disheartening at times) but the thing is.... this is my day job. My options are this- Michigan which is oppressive as hell and people are getting raided when growing completely legal and hardly anything going on, oregon and washington dont seem to have any sort of supply system in place to make it a viable career/living for a medium size caregiver and colorado is not an option for the fact that I cant open a disp. and thats the only way to have a career in growing there. I feel california is competitive, yes, but I WANT that... I want challenges, I want to be involved in the community and I want to constantly better my skills and knowledge... ya know?

Just like dsm said, living expenses can kill you! my buddy lost a lot of weight the first year starting the farm, he almost starved at times because he didn't figure in the cost of all his living expenses. If you plan on growing indoor, you need a good 3-6 months of expenses saved up! Food for you and the plants, gas money, smoke for yourself while you are waiting for a crop, power bill, rent, water, garbage, bug spray/pest control, entertainment because you cant just sit around for a few monthsand the list goes on. It's not hard to calculate costs for all the growing supplies and rent, lawyer and such but its the monthly bills that fluctuate and that are going to pop up here and there that you should really prepare for! Gas, food and entertainment aren't cheap!

If you only have that much for the move your best bet is to wait and move at the start of the outdoor season and do an outdoor crop, electricity bills on indoor will kill you. It's risky and putting all your eggs in one basket but it's the only way i see you pulling it off with that much money.

I can't even begin to say how risky this is, if there is a raid or you get mold or rippers come any number of things can go wrong and ruin you, then you'll be back to square one broke

OMG, im this guy last year.
20,000 is not enough really for your first harvest.

Plus its not completely "Legit" for commercial grows.

My lawyer alone was $3500 and I owe him another $800 for one phone call when the first thing went south.

got to agree with the fellas who said it was risky, the risk of getting robbed is very real and mother nature can fuck you just as much as help you. you can never factor in all the shit that can go wrong. ive been doing this for years and every year something pops up that cost alot of money, getting a job is really the only sure way of not going homeless putting all your eggs in one basket. are you trying to go indoor or out?

Hey bro good luck..Thats about the best thing u will hear..I know i asked the same damn ?? a few days ago and have people hating all over me...They just say NO ull be broke, starve be homeless within a couple of mths..And only the 1's living out there with connections r able to sell there weed...Which makes no sense at all to me, a dispenserie is gonna BUY ANY GOOD WEED, not just from there friends...Business would go bankrupt if that where true...But get a simple job anough to pay rent and prove the majority of the retards wrong thats what im gonna do hear come OCTOBER...

its not really that cheap tho....unless ur good friends with someone.....some of them places charge same as u get on the street, sometimes more...........i do have buddies tho that take this route...like i said...it seems to be more who u no...

go gold mining while you grow. gold is over 1800 an ounce i know spots in cali where you can get an ounce a day.
