The monies paid into Social Security have never been "put into the general fund" The reference to Lyndon Johnson indicates your confusion with the way the fund is accounted for in the federal budget
and did not change the actual operation of the fund itself.

Please read the actual references to what occurred and not the biased opinion of people who I would guess to be Conservatives.

It is for accounting purposes only would be the short answer but you need to read the actual way SS works.

technically the IOU's republicans put there are not to SS itself as SS get treasury bonds to cover the stealing of funds. the actual people the IOU's and theft of monies are a pillage of citizens not the fund itself as bonds have been issued.

Thanks I'm FULLY read up on the way the SS fund works and it was Johnson and the D's that opened the fund up for pilfering. You can put as much lipstick on the pig as you want and blame what was done after on whomever you want. But that was the point in history where the wheels were "allowed" to come off.

isnt it neat how odummies followers have such selective memories? dumbo puts 3 trillion on the debt in less than 3 years with a fully controlled democratic govt, yet its the "terrible" republicans that have caused it all? sillyness.

and i am no supporter of a lot of republicans. there are a lot of them that need to go also. boehner, mcconnel, and the like....beat it.

it really comes down to the attitude of the person holding the seat. do you believe govt owns everything and controls everything? then go seek work elsewhere. if you support liberty, and freedom to spend your own lifes work the way you want....then get on board.

just how much money are you sitting on? i know that what little extra i have certainly isn't going to be invested into a marketplace filled with uncertainty and i wouldn't be investing in any but the most reliable businesses in such an anti-business climate. we simply don't invest in a losing proposition. all that capital is being invested in markets where profit is a more probable outcome. yup, there's that filthy word again - profit. it's what people seek to gain in order to survive. our every investment of labor, capital, or even time is in search of some gain. all that money that the rich are supposedly "sitting on" is being invested away from the clutches of redistributionist policy, where profit is more probable. just because something is cheap doesn't mean that its value will increase enough to make investment a reasonable bet.

maybe we should just "collect" all the extra money the rich greedy bastards are holding onto and "invest" in things like union pension plans, do nothing govt jobs, and extra police. we could always use extra police, who could be against putting an extra 100,000 cops on the street?

besides, you selfish rich people are gonna use that money for something stupid like a new car, or sending your kid to the best college, or a new house or something. all the things that nobody needs or wants to build.......probably not gonna invest it in things we need like windmills, and stimulative foodstamp programs.

yes, libs are that stupid.

Yea,,, Your right,,,People are not investing in bussiness because of all the uncertainity,,,But they are sure investing a lot of money to lobbyist. Your right they want the profit on there term's,,,Fuck regulation,,,Fuck minimum wage,,,fuck worker's right's,,,You work as a slave to what the job pay's you don't like find another one.
