To Harvest Or Not To Harvest

Sorry I can't get any pics up its not working for me but 2 or 3 of my plants have been flowering for about 5 1/2 weeks now and a few of the trichomes have changed to brownish amber should I Consider harvesting soon or try to wait the full 8 weeks?? And the strain is white widow if that matters please and thanks for the help!

WW is notoriously long...like 11 or 12 weeks. But don't go by the book. Just keep an eye on your plants and harvest when they look done. Or harvest some early and let the rest ripen a bit so you can compare.

To the op: what dannyboy said sounds about right. I have heard a lot of people say how long white widows take to finish so I cant see the trichomes tirning amber already...pics might also help too. Good luck.

can anyone help me i'm growing(W.O.S)strawberryblue,i lost the main cola by accidentally giving him a lobotomy(outgrew it's shelf)i have been forced to harvest as i cant seem to b able to get my hands on a decent magnifyer,saying that i'd say 99.9% of the pistils had gone red r brown,can anyone tell me where to go from here?i also have 2 hawaiin snow plants on go,6ft n they're flowering at the mo(forever)when it's time for harvest is it best tokeep watering n feeding ur plants right up to the day,cos ive heard of ppl stopping W+F and letting the weed drying right on the plant is there any truth 2 dis,or does it just not hold water(srry).jaydublin

hey steeler, is it the trichomes your looking at or the pistils ? many people get those two mixed up. Like le pic said that seems early for trichomes. I avoided WW because of the long flowering time, in ontario i just dont think it would have made it.

sorry about that but just had to check :) Nice harvest, how big were the plants? and how many of them were there? and im guessing that was wet weight not dried? and because im semi retarded you went by "No I'm not mistaking them it was the hairs coming off the bud" that leads me to believe you were judging it by the hairs on the bud and not the little microscopic sacs of resin and thc known as trichomes.



when those little fuckers get cloudy and possibly amber then you chop the crop



all the brown hairs pistils the white crystals trichomes under microscope look like the first pic.

O shit you sure are right Damn. O well that was just one plant I have 17 more and they are all around 6 Ft tall! This is my first grow too if you couldn't tell lol is it bad I went by the color of hairs instead?

lol, I thought i was giving you shit info, had to google to double check myself as im new too. I have 8 plants about 6-7' tall looking to get some good weight off them.

about 60-70% from what i hear, but the plant would have put on much more weight in the last 3 weeks too dont forget that

ebay or amazon.ca or .com for the USA you can even use a jewelers eye piece thing but i went with a cheap scope that takes digital pics so i can post them here when its time for me to harvest

I would still try and smoke it see how much punch it packs, and if not much ask around here to see what you can do with it if anything
