Yeah... I think in ireland your allowed to have guns (shot guns.....need a licence) still think its a bad idea... i.e... If you own a gun your much more likely to shoot people than if you dont... Anyway... To each there own!!!

I don't have 30 guns, but I do have enough to defend my home and property (even a prolonged standoff if need be), and I never even came close to shooting anyone who didn't desperately deserve it. I have never just woke up one morning and said too myself, "Gee, That John was an insufferable prick last night, I think I'll just shoot his ass today!"
People are more likely to shoot someone threatening them. The result of that is that after a while, people
quit threatening others !!

Burglars have a greater than 95% chance in this country of meeting little to no resistance when plying their trade. What to you think it would be like if those numbers suddenly reversed? At first, we'd have a lot of dead burglars. Then, the number of breaking and enterings would drastically drop, because all of a sudden, the life expectancy of a burglar would be very short indeed.
