Greetings!!
First time grower, long time smoker. I've tried to educate myself enough to prevent failure, and so far I still have 4 living, 10 days from seed, plants (Bogglegum). However two of them seemed to be flourishing, while two seem to be growing up like red-headed step children!!
Setup: Stealth Hydro Bubbleponics w/4 Bogglegum from seed.
Medium: Rockwool and Hydroton
Nutes: Using the included, pre measured Nutrients that came with system. (Micro, Grow, Bloom) After each plant was about 4 or 5 days above ground, I added the first half of Micro & Grow. Gave it a day, they seemed fine, so 24 hours later I added the remaining Nutrients.
Temperature/Humidity: I'm in the South, so Temps are a bit warm (Daytime 82-92) (Nighttime 75-82) Humidity mostly has been between 40-50%.
Co2: Being that I am growing warm, you'll notice 3 "poor man's" Co2 generators. I really do believe this helps, can't hurt right??
PH: Stable at 6.2 after Nutes
Lighting: (1)40Watt CFL 6500k + (2)26Watt CFL 6500k (will switch all 3 to 2700k for flowering)
So anywhose, I noticed two of my plants began growing much slower, and even started producing some deformed (even missing) leaves. I added 1/2 gallon of water to thin out the Nutes, waited, didn't see much progress after 2 days, and finally flushed the two deformed plants in plain water for 30 minutes last night. Also dumped and cleaned the entire system, and found LOTS of 'grainy' buildup in the reservoir, all up in the pump, and on the outside of the airline tubing...everywhere.
So I COMPLETELY cleaned every last part of the system, squeaky clean, and set it all back up with clean water and MAYBE 1/4 Micro & 1/4 Grow, for now. It has not been more than 18 hours, and already I can see new growth developing on the previously two red-headed step children. I certainly hope these are signs of progress, but I assume I'll have to wait until I see what condition the new leaves come in at.
But, being a first time grower I wanted to give myself the best chance at saving my plants which is why I'm posting all this information, in the hopes that someone can reassure me I've taken the right steps, point out unseen/potential problems, and suggest future care!
About time for me to shut up, so here are some pics. It's pretty easy to tell the two healthy ones from the two stunted/deformed ones. Notice the "upside down canoe or Hooking leaves". Thanks in Advance for ANY input.
EDIT: You may notice a "missing" leaf on one of the healthier looking plants, that was my own dumbass mistake. I was adjusting the lighting one day and accidentally touched the light to the leaf for too long.
