Hey Weeman! Thanks for stopping by. There's still plenty of excitement here as I come down the home stretch - 10 days away from harvest.

I checked your scene out too. You got a nice setup and some good lookin stuff.

Cant wait to see the harvest pics bro, your doing a great job!
Thanks, Don.

I'm in the final countdown now for the trays of OG... 10, 9, . . .

I've been removing leaves with light mite damage on one plant at the rate of 2 - 3 leaves a day this week. It has me concerned, but I think I can continue to stay ahead of em. Last night I found a fleck of PM on one leaf too. Nothing is threatening any bud at this point, so I will continue to monitor and hope for the best. If that one plant gets too suspect, I will chop her early. The two late-arrival OG's will get chopped a week early. At this point, I feel good about getting to Day 56. The Madagascar continues to be problem free. I will add support sticks to the Madi tonight.

When the lights come on tonight - the OG is at Day 47, the Madi at Day37.

When I brought the original 30 OG over to plant out in my room, there were 2 that just had too much mite damage for indoor, and they weren't looking healthy. Even though it was way late in the season, I placed them outside anyway. I propped one up with a tomato cage as it couldn't even support itself, put em in 3.5 gallon pots with Basement mix, and let 'em do what they could. I helped them out by getting rid of the mites (Azatrol on schedule the first 4 weeks), and giving them quality feeds -- often times using the leftovers from the indoor feed the night before. They did the rest of the work on their own.

Again, they were put out late season, so they did not grow the same... there is quite a bit more leaf in the overall structure of the plant, and in the bud. This happens when the days are moist and cool as they have been in the mornings and evenings this year. I had to pull all my outdoor early this year because of the weather - darn!

I had to take my outdoor down early as the weather was cool and damp and bud rot was setting in.

These plants were too mited to put into the room. They went outdoors instead; outdoor OG Skywalker, and OG Pornstar at 47 days late in the season.

The cool, damp evenings and mornings makes your OG grow differently. She takes on more leaves overall and in the bud. But there's nothing like sneaking in an extra outdoor turn!

LR im breathing a sigh of releaf for you brother. with 10 days left im sure you can wing that. youve overcome some serious obsticals in this grow. it is truly the sign of an experienced grower that overcomes rather than secumbs to the onsought of multiple problems experienced throughout the grow. you my friend are an inspiration, and proof that with diligence and persistance most of our problems in growing can be overcome, and sucess be had. it may not be easy but it can be done. much respect to you brother...GREAT GARDENING SKILLS!!!...

That's excellent mate! Looking forward to see pics of the harvest.

Thanks, me and my friend are working together on our grow. So far so good, but we've hit a bump or two down the road.
But I've been told most people on their first grow has, so I'm sure it's gonna be fine :) No dead plants yet at least lol

Yeah - I'm breathing a little easier myself... but it's not over 'til it's over!

Damn! Thanks much for those very kind words! That is really nice of you to say. It makes me feel good that I have inspired anybody to do anything. I post here because of the inspiration I get from everybody on RIU. My thanks go back to all of you for the support you've shown me. It really helps. I am gonna get through these 10 days. Thanks for helping me get there, 4Tatude.

I'd like to medicate you all!

Madagascar at 41 days

The Madagascar are at 41 days. Tomorrow they will get the special 6-week-feed....

The OG are finishing up nicely at 51 days. The buds are really heavy and the entire canopy has moved away from the wall about 16 inches! I really need to attach the trellis better next time. I am still removing leaves from a couple plants that show mite damage, and I found a speck of PM on a few leaves as well, but I am only 5 days away from the chop! I feel good about getting to the end with the OG; confident I can stay ahead of PM and the mites. The Madi will then go for another 10 - 17 days in the middle of the room - 5 lights for 8 plants! The Madi continues to be PM and Mite free. I will sneak one more small sulfur in after I harvest the OG.

51 days of bloomin' OG

Top-heavy Pornstars on the left, and force-filled Skywalker on the right; OG Kush!

Thanks, Myles!

I don't have a set flushing method; the method employed will depend upon the feed history, strain, the climate, the media, and the condition of the crop, etc.

For this round...

After hitting em with my peak feed at day 42, I started thinking about flushing. The majority of my inputs in this grow were organic - so I did not really have to worry about flushing out a lot of 'heavy metal'. For days 43 - 50 I tapered feeds from my peek 1300ppm down to about 600ppm. These feeds were all natural/organic - using a mix of the following products in different ratios as I felt best:

  • Pure Blend Pro Bloom Soil
  • Organic Sweet
  • Humboldt Honey ES
  • Liquid Karma
  • Sweet
  • AACT brews from worm castings, bat guano, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, Liquid Karma, Grandmas Molassas
At Day 51, I used a flushing agent - Clearex - which is just sugar (Glucose and Sucrose). I will water again with Clearex at Day 53. I will give them a BIG flush at Day 54 to complete the irrigation of this harvest. I will chop at 56 or 57 days.

This OG could actually go longer. If I had all three layers of my trellis securely installed, and I wasn't fighting mites, I would have gone 9 weeks.
