I guess the op is gone but.... you do not cure weed in 4 days and it was not mature when he picked it either. He said he got a good high off it, that is better than a lot of seeds you get from seedbanks.

I have grown some excellent plants from middy seeds. But those were the nicest mids I've ever seen, aka heads with seeds.

Everything is genetics! If your just randomly grabbing seeds, not knowing what they are, then who knows what you gonna end up with! Growing outside i've played plenty of Russian roulette with unknown seeds, but never with valuble indoor space. If your gonna commit time to a seed I recommend growing the best you can...

Some of the best weed I've smoked came from seeds I got in a " Schwag " bag.

However it came from southern Mexico ( My friend who was down in Acapulco "Accidently " got some seeds caught in his hat band, he told me the weed was the familiar brick or pressed seedy Mexican crap....but the high was just crazy good. )

But lo and behold on his return to the States he " found " the stowaways...he's been growing it ever since.

I don't think it's really the way they process it...which sucks. But the original strain. And years of bad farming practice and cross contamination with wild hemp had definitely made Mexican weed a joke.

It's practically extinct in Colorado...finally.

I have heard several people say that if you grow out bagseed correctly, you will end up with some good weed. Im determined to find out for myself one day.

2 yrs I've grown bag seed...not sure what bags they came from seeing how all seeds I ever found before I started smoking nug were thrown in a small jar and randomly pulled, but last yrs was great smoke,although a real shitty yield(1st grow) and this years is looking crazy at about 3 weeks in flower. Last yr was all sativa, this looks like a hybrid, so hopefully no flowering into November, I don't think the weathers going to hold out this year.

A few points:

First of all, if it took 11 weeks before you saw flowers you were doing something wrong in growing it. Mexican commercial "schwagg" should start to show flowers in only 7 days under 12-12 lighting the same as every other normal strain.

Next, you don't harvest when you start to see flowers and crystals, you harvest roughly 8 weeks later when the crystals start to turn yellow.

Lastly, a proper cure involves 5-7 days of open air drying, followed by 3-4 weeks (at LEAST) of slow drying, typically inside glass. This is how you turn a harsh green flower into a mellow sweet tasting smoke.

In short, you took a potentially good plant, but sampled it WAY too early, and then dried it badly. In other words, you ruined your crop in EXACTLY the way the Mexican commercial growers do! So is it any surprise you got the same results?

If you grow it right, I think you'll be quite pleasantly surprised at what you end up with.
