Advanced Nutrient users!

I am looking for a bit of advice on Advanced Nutrients. I am currently using Canna and i am happy with them but id also like to try some other nute companys and see if there is any difference. I am interested in AN just to see if its hype or they do make the best products. The price has been putting me off but i have found a place in the UK now who does decent discounts if you buy 10ltrs at a time so i am starting looking into what i would need.

Below is a list of what i think i would need to get a decent harvest using the AN range, i havent got the cash to use the full range so i have just gone for what i think i can get away with that will take me all the way from veg to flower:


Sensi Grow for vegging
Sensi Zym for breaking down dead roots
Voodoo Juice for root stimulant
B52 throughout
Connoisseur for flowering
Bud Blood
Big Bud
PK 4/10
Overdrive

I was wandering what people thought of this? Also i have foxfarm Cha-Ching so im wondering if i could replace that for overdrive as i believe overdrive is for more resin production?

Any opinions are welcome

Keep it simple. Start with the basics which will be plenty for any strain, and add others when you think you have the basics mastered.

Too many growers fail because they think they need to run every slick marketing gimmick out there, and it doesn't have to be. Truth is you wont notice any difference or maybe slight difference that won't be worth the money and problems.

Start with Sensi-Grow two part mix and add Cal-Mag if you have or running RO water, couple drops of H2o2 and your good. B-52 is the only thing I would add extra if you want to run extras at first.

Thanks for the advice dude. I was trying to match what i get now with Canna, the voodoo juice would replace the Rhiztoric and the Sensizym would replace the Cannazym. Big bud was going to replace my bloom boost and overdrive for cha-ching.

Yo, I've been using the GH flora three part for the past eight grows and have been thinking about trying AN for my next to conduct my own hands-on direct comparison.

I like your comment as it indicates a sound basis of approach when trying anything new. Yeah, any base and micro by a big brand will work fine, and it is a matter of starting with the basics and adding new things gradually.

Your advice given here was the advice I had given myself too as an old grower. I'm pretty much gonna do exactly as you describe with the AN Sensi A and B program. Just a bit of calmag at first.

Hey, fellow 'about-to-try-AN Sensi' grower here. I've had great results with the GH line, but am curious myself how AN will compare. Will it really increase my yield? (I average just under a pound a grow, a good grow exceeding a pound by a few grams).

I cruised a recent youtube video series where this guy, obviously not a noob, grew OG in a flood table. He ran down all the supplements he was giving it and it was a list of names that made my head spin. Needless to say, he ran into stunted and deformed growth early on... The leaves started doing this weird alien curl thing that was hard even for an experienced grower to diagnose exactly. It got worse and worse with each updated video and he couldn't for the life of him figure out what was going wrong. Salt buildup? No. Nute burn? No. Light burn? No. Over/underwatering? No. By the end all the plants looked badly curled and deformed, whole grow a waste of time. This is an important lesson that just loading an unfamilar strain with all kinds of supplements isn't a good idea... I would think the same with loading a familiar strain with all sorts of supplements you're unfamiliar with.

Like r1tony advises, I'm gonna start with the basic AN Sensi formula and get a good veg going. There is plenty of time to observe the grow and add little things here and there along the way. No two strains behave in exactly the same way, no two systems or growers are exactly alike. And first rule of growing is that we do what the plants tell us to do through their appearance and growth pattern... If they like something, they'll show it, if they don't they'll show it.

I use the online calc but never run them as high as they suggest.

It was taking nearly an hour every couple of days to measure out all their bullshit and add it. The end result as no better than the soil grow I did side by side. I got suckered in by Urban Growers videos. Don't fall for their marketing hype; it's 100% bullshit.

I found a agricultural supplier that will matches the nutrient ratios of the expensive products for about $11 a pound (dry chem). My plants cant tell the difference and are frosty, dense and big. I would recommend that everyone do some research and give small businesses a try.

Just for you I'll make it a point to use Dutch Masters right after this AN grow. It's all about finding the best nute and I've gotten all I can out of GH Flora... It's time to compare. If the AN doesn't do any better than the results I've gotten with my more recent grows (where I finally fully mastered GH), then I'll still be happy and we break even. If it does better, I'll be happy, you'll be happy (I hope), and I'm sure that cheesy ass guy with the mustache in the Urban Grower videos will be happy... and no buttocks need to meet lips. If the result is inferior to what I've gotten with GH, then I'll kiss your arse, dig? I'll settle which nute is best right here center stage for all of RIU land to see.

And trust me, I'm not made of money, so I'm not gonna go too crazy on the additives and try to keep it at a reasonable cost range. The GH I've been using actually isn't significantly cheaper than the AN line my shop sells it at.

There is nothing I can tell you about hydro; I've seen your diablo journal and it's fucking insane, the biggest, most amazing roots I've ever seen. Gh 3 part can be bought for as little as 3 a quart when buying bulk,i buy in 6 gallon jugs & get that price.

Damn, it's hard to ignore this kind of negative feedback on AN. It would be one thing if just one or two had negative comments about it, but there seems to be a lot. Hmmmm...

I think, however, AN has finally come up with an answer to your gripe. This is a new product called Jungle Juice that is being marketed as a less expensive mirror to the exact nute regiment I've been using. And the thought of titling my next Journal, "The General Versus The Jungle" just sounds like fun. I also like the monkey and will show him prominently in my journal

AN is good ive been useing it for 3 years now!! Yeah its a lil tedious mixing all of the bottles but i like doing so makes me feel like im putting my ALL into my Girlz so Kudos to AN for life!!
