do you use the flowers? i read that you can use them as a headache remedy, but i haven't had access to a passionvine since.... (my neighbour had one last year but we suspect it might not be coming back this year.... *sigh*)

Mellokitty not sure how well it would work but I could send you a Wild Passion Fruit plant from the Bible Belt of the USA.
Havent walked over into my field lately to see how they are growing but I'll go out here in a few and see how they are doing.
Could even just mail the flowers maybe.

ya passion fruit flower is great for pain, but not really instantly effective, its more for stress relief some people say its even a little psychoactive but never happened to me i just usually feel warm and end up sleeping 
but the warmth could be that i take it a tea, some people say that the fruit meat does the same but you need a lot lot of it

thank you so much for the kind offer; the issue isn't "access" necessarily, but "overwinterability". my neighbour's was doing great last year, it grew a 10 foot radius around the original sprout she got, and she was going to bring it inside for the winter last year and plant it in the ground maybe at the end of this season, but her hubby planted it in the ground last fall while she was at work and she left it there so as not to offend him.
welp, it wasn't quite well-established enough so it never came back this spring/summer.... *sigh*
there's a big big plant show i go to every year.... vine sprouts are in the $6 to $10 range so i'll probably just pick one up next year. i am notorious for killing off clematises so i decided to just get the one trumpet vine for this year. which has yet to flower yet. *sigh*

hehe yer, plus after you get a fruit you get like 50 potential plants from each fruit so you never need to keep it alive, But again am 12/12 all year with temps that never fall under 40f so, al see just how big i can get this fucker , first fruits are coming out all post a pic tomorrow, also my potatoes are now established, al snap some pics tomorrow of those too

Ooh, thank god I don't have fire ants. Just those little black ants. Freakin little farmers they are. Did you know that they move the aphids around where they want them, where they think they will get the most sugar. Then, they come back and suck the juice right out the aphid's ass. True, I Googled it. Ok, well, that doesn't mean it's true, but hella weird anyway.

seen it in action, they did it all over the flower garden..... mostly on the mock orange and rose bushes.
they are wily gangsta farmers. i bummed some ladybugs off the old man when he bought a couple thou for the room, the ants fought off the first onslaught and then tripled their security team after that.

I don't know Mugan...your plants are so dark green and healthy, I don't see any evidence of ants. I put some traps out the other day, and they don't seem to be doing any good. I am going to try a different kind.

I got the little effers crawling all over me yesterday. I stuck the shovel in the ground and they poured out and up. ewwwwww! I have noticed the DE keeps them at bay (at least on my one girl I sprinkled it around). Damn little ass suckers.

pulled the first zuks out today.. me my sis and a few of the farm guys were having an argument on when they should come out, i say wait until there huge , my sis says as big as the biggest one in this pic and the one of the workers was saying you want them small cuz they have more flava or some shit, any of you guys eva had zuks what are your opinions ?? . also am starting the herb collection (not that kind ), am looking for herbs around to add to the garden, today my mint clippings rooted. hopefully al have others soon so far just thyme, alfalfa and mint.

JeeZ Mugan! Those zucs look awesome! 6 to 8 inches is the perfect size to pick them. Baby zucs are good too, like 4 - 6 inches. Zucs are good sliced into rounds or half moons and quick sauteed with olive oil. Grate or super finely chop some garlic and add the last couple of minutes...don't burn it though. Should only take about 5 mins total. Add salt and pepper and grate parm cheese over. mmmm
