Just a quick update.
Harvested the first plant today, a pretty small Urkel x og.
Looks like maybe 9oz not bad. It was in an 18gal pot set in the ground; the only plant done this way(got lazy at the end)

Blue widows and white siberians next weekend, right on target for 10/1. The west side of the big white sib is a week ahead of the east side so I will probably harvest what is ready and let the light shine in to finish the other side.

And finally, the big Durbans are frosting up nicely but certainly have at least 2 to 3 weeks left. Kind of a skunky kerosine smell. Gonna be worth the wait I think....

Feels good to get the first one indoors...

I know you're a card holder of course. I would be happy to share it so you know if it's something for next year. I will be doing this one again unless it tastes like crap or something, It's super vigorous and for a 70 - 80% sativa it's gonna finish 2nd week Oct..!
Might even top it next year, that WAS the plan but I bit off a little more than I could chew this year. Some shit got away from me.

BTW, this weather is the STUFF! 7 more days of this and I'll have 3 of the big ones in, and will then be able to cover the rest with the 2 carports and a 10 x 10 shade unit that's on hand.
Most def will be planting in 10 x 20 blocks/rows next year. Tired of packing teas in buckets over a 2 to 3 acre area. B.S.

Peace,
Hops

Grew the Durban couple years back and didn't care for the taste, was late to finish. Plant was a monster and did produce good yield just tasted crappy harsh, would burn your throat.
Congrats on the first plant in. Sounds like an intersting cross?

Arrghh, Hope that harshness was an isolated incident. Maybe the skunk#1 in mine will smooth it out? We'll see.
Yeah, the Urkel x og was the only bagseed I did this year, 4 seeds from a bag of rock hard, purple popcorn buds that were tasty and potent.
I got 4 girls and 2 phenos, 1 that's in the pics posted yesterday -with easy trimming dense largish nugs harvested on 9.24
The other three are just like what was in the bag; thousands of popcorn nugs that are turning purple now but won't be ready for three weeks. Those are the ones I'm interested in. I'll have to borrow a friends trimming machine for those. It's this plant.
The stems have been striped since it was a seedling.

I'm hoping it comes out good too, but I'm afraid it might be that way. You sasy yours is Skunk crossed, it might help it out, but those landrace sativas are usually lacking in the flavor department.
That Purp x OG looks dankity!

I hear you Wheezer.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like any skunk I've grown (4 or 5) at all, so It's probably gonna taste like Durban - whatever that tastes like. It is getting sticky and smells ... intimidating (Ha). I'd bet it's a stony one. Hopefully a tasty one as well.
BTW the Acapulcos that are going off here in the Bay area are about 4 weeks into flower and since I'm guessing they are a 12 to 15 week plant (and I emphasize Guess), that means they are gonna be done around the first+ week of December. Not bad.
I'm putting together a 7 x 16 permanent, heated greenhouse at home that should keep them in optimum conditions till then.
I wish I had Durban pollen to hit them with....Mexican Sativa x South African Sativa, hmm a pure sativa that could finish by November. Has that been done? Maybe I'll get an Acapulco boy next germination and can try it the other way around. I won't forget you want some boy dust.

Peace,
Hops

Just got a call from a good buddy of mine that will be able to help trim this Friday /Sat. Good news.
Looks like the Blue widows are both coming down this weekend; it's been hard to be patient but no doubt worth it. Probably going to take most if not all of White Siberian #1and the small UK Cheese this weekend as well. Should amount to around 5-6 lbs between the four of them. Should have a week to relax after that.:)

Peace,

Won't be covering any, cutting the tops off 2 maybe 3 plants but will be leaving the others to natures wrath. Don't think I should have problem with mold but will be keeping a sharp eye on the White Grape, she's got the most leaf structure so not lots of air circulation. Their so close but a week maybe should finish them up and I'm taking the chance that the wind and storms short duration will not develope mold.

how's those power africa doing? They haven't came down yet have they?
They are not down, still in and looking good - maybe a week or so. Probably take them down on the weekend of the 13th. They are getting DENSE and stinky. They have a scent of their own for sure, kinda foul and yummy at the same time?

Well, a very busy 5 days since my last posts. Took down 8 plants - some small some not. Got most trimmed tight, some hanging with leaves. I had a family crisis early last week and in my absence some piece of shit helped himself to two of my girls, luckily(?) they were on the smallish side and at least 2 weeks from ready when taken. Stupid as well as criminal.

Anyway I had a ton of help trimming. At one point there were 6 of us at 2 tables drinking beer and taking an occasional rip from green bud...good times.

I estimate that we did about 7 lbs so far. The white siberian is a yield monster and a dream to trim, the first pic is 1.5 plants worth, I have 1.5 to go....:) The drying rack is 4' x 8'
wh sib trim.jpg

I mentioned before that I did 4 bagseed this year. never again. Th 4 purple urkel x og couldn't have been any different from each other. The first one smells real good in the jar. The second one I'll prob make hash out of. The third was stolen last week and the fourth is the Shiznit. OMG this thing smells like overripe blueberries, will yield a lb+ and looks like a magazine cover. Hope I can keep it in my garden till ripe, it needs to tighten up a bit, maybe 2 more weeks.

Happy trimming all,

Damn ABM,
maybe it got moist or something.
I had a branch of UK Cheese pollinated with the master pollen, I just assumed they were ripe since it had been over a month but the few I have looked at since chopping it aren't ripe....
Sometimes stuff doesn't work out.
